What to Do in Pensacola, Florida with Family

Our Pensacola Vacation As a Family by lifestyle blogger Laura of Walking in Memphis in High Heels

I usually try to don one family vacation each year, and it’s always a trip to beach.Ā  It’s my favorite thing to do, and I look forward to it for months every single year.Ā  I usually go at the end of August, but this year I decided to mix it up a bit and go before it got too hot outside, so I went last month.Ā  I usually go somewhere in the Alabama/Florida area, and this time I went on a Pensacola vacation.Ā  It was my first time staying in this area, and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been sooner.Ā  The water was so clear, the sand was so white and clean, and the beaches were so peaceful.

Since this was just a short little vacation to get me through the hump and to summer, I only had a few days there.Ā  But I made the most of it and got to try out some really great places while I was there.Ā  I booked through ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and stayed at Emerald Isle Condominiums and lovedĀ the place.Ā Ā Ā They have 2 on-site pools, a fitness center and a really nice dry sauna that Shane loves to visit!Ā  They are within walking distance to shopping and Gulf front dining.Ā  There was even a great little pancakeĀ place right across the street, yum!

Once the Pensacola vacation was over, Leighton kept telling meĀ she wanted to go home which I thought was a little strange since we were already there.Ā  Then IĀ realized she meant the “home” we stayed in while at the beach.Ā  She has been dying to go back ever since then and still talks about our Pensacola vacation almost every week.Ā  I still can’t get over howĀ spacious and updated the kitchens were, and our condo had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which was so nice so Leighton could have not only her own room, but her own bathroom.Ā  She even loved the beds in the bedroom so much so that she decided to make this vacation her firstĀ time to ever crawl out of her crib toĀ sleep in the “bigĀ kid bed” one night.Ā  Needless to say,Ā I transitioned her to a big girl bed once we got back in town.

Since this was my first time in Pensacola, I thought I would share some of the best places to stay, eat, shop and things to do.Ā  There is so much there to do.Ā  I wish I would have had even more time to check out more places, but I plan to go on another Pensacola vacation next year for sure.Ā  Have you been to Pensacola?Ā  Have you stayed with ResortQuest?Ā  Leave your favorite recommendations in the comments below so I can try them next time.Ā  P.S.Ā  I promise Leighton had a much better time than it looks like she had in these family pictures.Ā  Gotta love toddler life, haha!

  1. Born and raised here and I'm still in love with it. I'm so glad you had fun and enjoyed the beach. When I saw your other post with pictures at Casino Beach Bar & Grille I got excited that you picked Pcola Beach for vacation ļæ½ļæ½

  2. This sounds like such a nice vacation! I miss doing family beach vacations each year like when I was little. I need to start making it my own tradition as an adult with some friends or my boyfriend! Love these photos too!

  3. Born in Pensacola, grew up in Pace. Always loved Fort Pickens. Quiet & great sunsets. Lots of history in downtown Pensacola. Book a tour next time you're there or do a walking tour.
