Hey friends!  It’s been a long crazy work week and I’m SO excited that the weekend is finally here!  This past weekend, Shane, Leighton and I finally got to check out the new Crosstown Concourse in the old Sears building in Memphis.  It was so neat!  The place was huge.  It was filled with condos, MemPops, coffee shops, restaurants, a gym, lots of art, and more.  It was such a fun way to spend our Sunday afternoon just walking around, eating and exploring.  We did A LOT of walking though, and I was so glad to have my LILLEbaby carrier with me after a while.  And even though Leighton is turning 3 in exactly 1 month, she seemed to still love it just as much (mom win!)  In honor of Leighton turning 3 soon, I wanted to share 6 things that I wish I would have known before having a baby.  P.S.  Make sure you keep reading below because I’m giving away a LILLEbaby carrier just like the one below.  = )

1.)  You need a tribe.  They say it takes a village, and for me, this was so true.  For the first year I tried to do most I could by myself.  Then I made mom friends and even joined a couple groups on Facebook.  This community has taught me and helped me so much.  Just knowing you’re not alone in this crazy new world is so nice.

2.)  Mommy Brain is a real thing.  Seriously.  Now what was I saying…or doing??  = )

3.)  Take most of the advice with a grain of salt…and trust your instincts.

4.)  Don’t compare your child, your parenting style or anything else to others.  We are all different for a reason.  What works for someone else may not work for you.

5.)  You will make mistakes.  We all do.  Just do the best you can and move on.

6.)  These moments are so fleeting.  Enjoy every last second of every moment…the pregnancy…the newborn stage…the toddler stage, etc.  They will be the best days of your life.

To enter to win the LILLEbaby carrier, just use the widget below and good luck!  How old is your little one and what is your favorite thing about babywearing?  What do you wish you would have known before having a baby?

  1. FTM at 42 and thought I knew it all. Turns out like Jon Snow, I knew nothing! All of these points are so right on. Couldn't agree more especially with taking advice with a grain of salt and the fact that we all make mistakes! Great post.

  2. My little guy is 8 months. He is my third but the first I am babywearing. I wish I would have worn my older 2, it is SO much easier. I wish I would have known that with the first 2! Navigating middle school orientation and elementary football games Babywearing is a breeze! I love your blog post!

  3. My baby girl is 14 months (where did the time go ????) I have been wearing her since she was a month old. My favorite thing about our lille is that it allows us to have so many adventures that we couldn't do with a stroller while saving my arms and getting all the loves! There are so many things I wish I would of know before having a baby but figuring it out has all been a part of this crazy wonderful ride.

  4. First adore your outfit. Second this is an awesome giveaway with a fabulous carrier in a great print. I use my current carrier to wear my infant twins through the day. Would love a Carryon So my husband could carry our 2yr old

  5. My kiddos are 1,3 and I babysit a 9 no th old. All of whom I baby wear. I get Laundry done, cooking done, homework done, and even sewing while baby wearing. It has saved my life. Especially when I need to go to a few stores. Why pull out a stroller every time when my carriers are within reach I wish I would have known before having kids that time speeds up like no tomorrow. One second your in the hospital having your baby then suddenly they just turned 3.

  6. Great post! I have two littles, 2 years and 4 months old. I like to baby wear because it keeps them close for snuggles, allows me the use of my hands & keeps me balanced (hip carrying my babies causes soreness…my 4 month old is 18 lbs). I wish I would have known you don't need ALL the stuff! The baby lists have so many things on them, we travel a lot & have narrowed it down to the necessities…baby carriers are on that list!

  7. I carry my 14 month twins and would love another carrier for my 2 year old! It's so much easier to grocery shop when you just strap a baby in and go instead of trying to wrangle everyone on the shopping cart/stroller!

  8. I'm due with our first baby December 3rd! I'm very excited to baby wear with her! I know it is going to be cold in December so I think baby wearing will help her stay warm and cozy when we do things outside!

  9. This is the carrier that I have been wanting to order, but seems that it hasn't been on the website. Hope it becomes available to purchase again soon!

  10. My LO is 4 months old! I love wearing her. It keeps her calm and let's me get things done while she naps. It also keeps her off her head, so no flat spots here 🙂 I wish I would've known how hard breastfeeding was and I wish I would've known how many ignorant comments I was going to get. Although, I got many while pregnant, so I guess I should've expected it to continue. It's given me a thicker skin standing up for my daughter and my parenting choices.

  11. My youngest is 17 months and we still use our Lille for outtings and when she's overtired and mama has stuff to do. But my middle son who is 4 who has sensory sensitivities has asked me to get a bigger carrier for him when we're out in public too! A Carryon would come in handy!

  12. My baby will be a month on Sunday! I wish I had known more about babywearing with my 1st two kiddos. I have only worn my little guy a few times, but we are both enjoying the snuggles and closeness. Plus is makes life possible with a newborn, and a 5 & 8 yr old. 🙂

  13. I wear my 3yr old and my 15month old tandem wearing. I love being able to wear them even if its just a quick trip somewhere or walking with them to the store 🙂 i wish someone would have told me how hard it is to have them grow up so fast cause its like time just flies by and next thing u know yhey arent babies anymore, serioulsy i think i miss everyyhing about my 3yr being a baby from the diapers to the crying. I love that she is older and love seeing her grow but its so hard cause its like it happened over night. Forever grateful for these two little princesses God blessed us with !

Thank you for this giveaway 🙂

  14. My daughter is 14 months that I carry, we LOVE our LilleBaby❤️
The one thing I wish I had of known was to buy more things at consignment sales. The babies grow so quickly and the mommy community is always purging to support buying the next size. I am able to get so much more for the money!

  15. My little is 16 months and he is just the light in my world every day!!! I love your posts so much ???? Thank you for always being honest in your writings! BTW, I wish I knew these wild mama hormones were going to last what seems like forever….not that I would ever consider changing one thing. ????

  16. Great advice! I am a ftm and have heard how quickly it all goes by. I have been experiencing baby brain and know it all too well. My little one is due in January.

  17. He just turned 2 but is so petite he really looks/weighs like a 1 year old 🙂 and I also have a just turned 5 year old who loves it when I wear him lol so i do still . not often but occasionally 🙂
