4 Tips to Make Traveling with a Toddler Easier

1.)  Dress comfortably (and warm!)  This is the first time I’ve ever worn a sweatshirt on a flight, but it was so worth it.  I didn’t get cold on the flight (for once!) and it actually turned off really cold and was raining when we landed, so it was nice being prepared.  I opted for mules this time, and they were such a great idea.  They were so quick and easy to slip on and off through security.

2.)  Dress your toddler comfortably.  This means comfy pants or leggings and sneakers.  I also put her in a sweater because she gets cold easily on the plane.
3.)  Pack a backpack for your toddler.  Leighton thought it was so much fun toting around her backpack, and it was nice having her actually help carry some of the luggage this time.  = )  We made sure to pack plenty of snacks, wipes and coloring books in her backpack to entertain her on the flight.  I always try to find something new each trip so she isn’t already bored with it.
4.)  Check all your bags (except for your backpack with your toddler’s necessities.)  It is SO nice not having to lug around 4 bags, a purse and a toddler at the airport, so I always check everything!
This past week I had to fly out to Lubbock, TX for work.  Luckily, my mom and Leighton flew there to meet me for a couple days which made the long work week go by even faster!  And I get to meet up with one of my besties…Ashlee from Little Lovelies Blog!  Today I’m teaming up with Jon Hart Design to share some of my best tips when traveling with a toddler.
I have been obsessed with Jon Hart Design luggage for a while now.  They have SO many color choices, sizes and styles.  I love that they are monogrammable, and I also love the material they are made out of.  They wipe clean so easily.  Perfect when flying and when traveling with a toddler.  = )  Leighton picked out our luggage, so of course it just had to be pink!  She is obsessed with her little backpack, and it made her want to carry it (and help me out with the luggage) even easier.  What are your best tips for traveling with a toddler?  We mamas can always use more!  = )

  1. Great tips! In addition to comfy clothing, something easy to pull up and down for the potty. Those bathrooms are SO small and you don't want to be struggling trying to unbotton, unzip, or remove clothing for the potty. Love this luggage!
