Removing Makeup: Why It’s So Important to Do it Every Night

This removing makeup post is sponsored by Mirum, and all opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for helping me to support the brands I love.

I’m writing a rare weekend post, but it’s something important that I’ve been wanting to share for a while.  My mom is the one who taught me how important it was to wash my face every night, even when I don’t want to.  We have to be proactive now with our skincare so we don’t regret not being later.  I’m sharing a few of my favorite reasons that you should wash your face every night.

REMOVING MAKEUP: WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT EVERY NIGHT

1.)  Removing makeup helps wash away those oils that could clog pores and cause breakouts, fine lines, puffiness and dark circles.

2.)  It will give you clean fresh skin that are the perfect canvas for anti-aging night moisturizers.

3.)  Not removing makeup can lead to a dull complexion, and that’s the last thing we all want.

Right now at CVS, buy one, get one 50% Off all POND’S, Noxzema, St. Ives and Simple skincare products + Get $5 ExtraBucks when you spend $15 on participating POND’S, Noxzema, St. Ives and Simple skincare products.  Some of my favorite skincare products are Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water, POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser, Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream and St. Ives Green Tea Blackhead Cleaning Scrub.

Step 1:  Removing makeup with Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water.  This water is infused with skin-loving minerals and plant extract, and it’s specifically developed for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin.

Step 2:  Cleanse and moisturize with POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser or Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream.  Y’all, I LOVE Noxzema.  I have been using this since middle school.  The creamy texture and the smell make my skin feel and look so clean.  It reaches deep into pores to remove dirt and oil while leaving skin smooth, soft and moisturized.  And one of my favorite things about the POND’S cleanser is that it is actually made of 50% moisturizer.  My skin is So dry, so I need all the moisture I can get while still cleaning my skin.

Step 3:  Exfoliate with St. Ives Green Tea Blackhead Clearing Scrub.  Using an exfoliator is so important.  It helps unclog pores which leads to a more even skin tone.  It also helps set the perfect clean exfoliated canvas for your moisturizers and night creams to really work.

CVS is the perfect place to save even more on your favorite nighttime skincare beauty products.  What are your favorite nightly ritual beauty products?  Do you take your makeup off each night?Removing Makeup: Why It's So Important to Do it Every Night by popular East Memphis style blogger Walking in Memphis in High HeelsRemoving Makeup: Why It's So Important to Do it Every Night by popular East Memphis style blogger Walking in Memphis in High Heels

  1. You know, I have never practiced much of a skin care routine and have had pretty decent skin my whole life. But now in my 40’s I am noticing all sorts of skin changes and I really need to start practicing better skin care. Thanks for the reminder and the wonderful tips!

  2. I used to be SO bad about taking off my makeup at night (aka I was being lazy!) and now I almost ALWAYS remove it and do my night-time routine. My skin looks better and I feel better!

  3. These are such great products! You’re so right, it’s so important to wash your face every night! Sometimes I get too lazy but I shouldn’t!

  4. I am always trying to be better about taking of my makeup each night! It’s time to stock up on great products on my next CVS run!
