This post is sponsored by American Express, but all opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for helping me to support the brands I love.

With summer starting to wind down, it’s definitely time to soak up those last few rays! School may have started for the bigger kids, but there is still plenty of summer left to enjoy.  Labor Day weekend is coming up soon, and it’s the perfect time to make the most out of what is left of the summer and enjoy one last hurrah!

Leighton and I are planning on spending the holiday on vacation (and of course we’ll be hitting up a waterpark while out of town!) Thanks to my Amex EveryDay Credit Card, we’ve been racking up points for over a year — including some big purchases for the home this year — and now we’re ready to put them toward a much-needed family vacay.

With Membership Rewards you can:

  • use Pay with Points at select merchants *
  • redeem them for retail, restaurant, entertainment or American Express gift cards.*
  • apply the points to eligible charges on your statement.*
  • use them for some or all of your eligible travel at amextravel.com.*
  • transfer them to a participating loyalty program.*
  • even shop for experiences and products.*

They’re your hard-earned points, and there’s no better time to treat yourself (and the family!) than before these long summer nights start getting shorter and shorter. What’s your favorite way to use your Membership Rewards points?

American Express Service, MyCredit Guide, featured by popular lifestyle blogger, Walking in Memphis in High Heels

You’ve heard me talk about my Amex EveryDay Credit Card and how all those points I’ve earned from shopping have really added up over the last few months, but did you know that American Express is not only a credit card company, it’s also a great financial partner, and they have recently added new features and tools to help you stay on top of your financial life as well.  American Express MyCredit Guide is a new free credit score tool available regardless of whether you are an Amex card member or not.

MyCredit Guide offers helpful financial resources from credit reports to a credit score simulator.  The credit score is a VantageScore® credit score by TransUnion®, and the credit reports are also from TransUnion. I work in credit y’all, and believe me, it is SO important to know your credit score and what’s on your credit report. The great thing about MyCredit Guide is that first and foremost it is FREE!  It is quick and easy to get your credit score and your credit report, and it doesn’t hurt your credit score by looking at your own report using MyCredit Guide

There is also a credit score simulator.  You can pick certain scenarios such as paying off a credit card immediately or even taking out a car loan, and the simulator will generate what your score could be if you followed through with these scenarios. It’s really helpful to see how these things could affect my credit score along with my current score.

When you’re looking at making any purchase (but especially a large one), you really want to be prepared.  You spend a lot of time researching online and in person for new homes and new cars, but do you spend as much time ensuring you are prepared financially for these big purchases?  How can you go in to negotiate for a good interest rate when you don’t even know what your credit score is?  Trust me, it makes a difference on what rate you will be offered!  Stay tuned next month to learn more about American Express and how it helps its customers.  Do you have any big purchases coming up?

Visit www.AmericanExpress.com/MyCreditGuide for terms and to learn more.

I opened my first American Express Credit Card last year, and since I’ve become such big fan of the brand and my credit card, I wanted to look into another that offered different but equally fantastic benefits – enter my new Amex EveryDay Credit Card!

This credit card offers SO much. Since you know I love to shop, I’m a big fan of the free ShopRunner account and Membership Rewards points on every eligible purchase (clothes or otherwise) – you know, so I can apply the points I’m earning to more fun stuff.

When I was researching all the credit card options, there is a great balance transfer offer that made Amex EveryDay credit card extra enticing for me:

  • $0 balance transfer fee** with the Amex EveryDay Credit Card when you transfer a balance within the first 60 days of opening your account
  • 0% intro APR** for 15 months (then the rate varies 14.49-25.49%) for both purchases AND balance transfers
  • And for those of us who use our credit cards for purchases big and small, you can earn 10,000 Membership Rewards points* as a bonus after spending $1,000 in purchases on the Card in the first 3 months

*Read about the offer and benefit terms

**Note that rates and fees may apply

  1. Congrats on this collab! Once my wedding planning season is over, I might need to look into this program for my man and I! Thanks for sharing the perks!

  2. I had an AmEx credit card for many many years so I’m definitely a fan (plus, the hubs used to work there). I don’t have them anymore, but right now I have one credit card that does basically everything and that’s totally the way to go, for me at least.

  3. I like to only have one credit card to limit the amount I’m spending and this amex card sounds amazing. I need to look into switching to it!

This credit card has amazing benefits! When we finally find our dream house I’ll be getting this credit card to fix it up! I always try and get credit cards that have points for travel or a percentage back.
