Matt an I stayed in Tucson, Arizona last month on our road trip to Yosemite National Park. The moment I saw that there was a Graduate Hotel there, I immediately knew that was where I wanted to stay. I stayed at my first Graduate Hotel in 2015 when the location in Oxford, Mississippi opened, and I loved all the little details about Graduate Hotels. The location in Tucson, Arizona is exactly what you would expect from Graduate Hotels and even more.
Graduate Hotels always does such a great job really tying in the local college, town and culture in the area. They had textiles all throughout the hotel that really showed off its Southwestern style. From the rugs to drapes to even art, every detail was well thought out. Even the front desk at check in had a stunning painted mural of the mountains. No matter where you look, you feel like the Graduate Hotel perfectly blends its iconic style with the city’s own style too.
The hotel is located by Arizona State University, and it definitely draws in a big crowd from students, families visiting and friends. But that’s what I love about Graduate Hotels. It is NOT just for college students. Graduate is for everyone. Upstairs they have a rooftop restaurant and bar, the Moonstone, and outside is a pool with incredible views of the city. It was so peaceful and relaxing out there. We ate dinner at the restaurant indoors, and it was really good. We loved the lively vibe there too. They had a full house, and the hotel and restaurant was full of people there to have fun. Downstairs in the lobby is Poindexter Coffee. They have coffee and some other drinks and snacks. We got lattes the morning we were leaving, and they were really good. Definitely recommend!
How adorable are their hotel rooms?! I love the color scheme, the art, the plaid chairs, the cactus lamp and the curtains. Every little detail was perfectly thought out and designed to make the rooms so inviting and unique to the town’s history and culture. If you’re in the Tucson area, I definitely recommend staying at Graduate Hotels. We were so impressed with the hotel’s decor, the room, the restaurant and pool. It definitely feels like a home away from home, no matter which Graduate Hotel you stay at. And if this was your college town, I can guarantee you will feel like you perfectly fit in here.
