New Year, New Dress

Now that Christmas has come and gone, it’s time to get in gear for New Year’s Eve.  I didn’t go out last year for New Year’s Eve, so I’m really looking forward to it this year (if I can stay awake that long.)  My bed is usually the only thing I’m snuggled up next to at midnight.  I might even have to go home, take a nap, and set my alarm for 9:00pm to get up, get ready and then go out.  Sad but probably true.  The older I get, the more I convert to a morning person, and I’m not happy about it one bit!  Spoken like a true grouchy old lady.  As usual, I’m slacking on finding the perfect dress for that night.  The first one is the splurge I would love to have, but my wallet is still recuperating from Christmas.  I think I could actually get a lot of use out of it, but I’ll probably end up with one of the more affordable versions below.  I need to be hitting the gym like yesterday if I’m planning on getting in dress #2 or #4.  I’m still debating on going out of town to Nashville for the weekend and New Years Eve or staying in town and going to a party.  Does anyone have any suggestions if you’re in the Memphis area?  I hear that the Peabody New Year’s Eve Party is awesome.  5 more shopping days to find your outfit to ring in 2013!

  1. I went to the Peabody NYE party a few years ago and it was terrible! They may have made lots of changes since we last went, but our experience was not a good one. You paid a flat price to get in. The drinks were included in that price, but there were only a couple of bartenders and hundreds of people at the party. It took about an hour to get to the front of the line for a drink. If you go, I want to hear if it's gotten better or not!
