This post is sponsored by Poshmark, but all opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for helping me to support the brands I love.
I’m a minimalist (and a neat freak) y’all, but it sure is hard when you also love fashion! I like to keep everything neat and organized, but until I have an endless amount of closets in my house (I don’t think that’s going to happen!), I try to only keep clothing, shoes and accessories around that I actually wear, love and that fit me. If something has sat there for that entire season and hasn’t been worn, it’s time for it to go! I usually donate first to Goodwill, but I save my designer items to sell. That’s where Poshmark comes in!
POSHMARK REVIEW
I’ve been buying and selling on Poshmark for 6 years now (download Poshmark here.) Why do I love Poshmark?? Well first of all, you get money back on the things that you don’t want anymore. That means more money to shop and buy new items or anything else you’ve been saving up for. I mean…it is spring; it’s the perfect time for a closet cleanout! Second of all, it is SO easy. I mean SOOOOO easy y’all. Trust me, I have sold on quite a few sites, and Poshmark is the fastest and easiest in my opinion. It’s also like another little social media site in and of itself which is kind of cool and unique. Poshmark is an app that you can quickly download to your phone. It usually takes me about a minute to list each item. To help you sell on Poshmark, I’m sharing some of my favorite tips below.
1.) Snap at least 3 pictures of the item you’re selling. If you’re selling shoes, show the top, the sides (while wearing them) and the soles so people can see how worn they are. If you’re selling clothing, make sure you show at least 1-2 images of you wearing the item. People love to see how items look on so they can tell how it fits.
2.) Really think about the pictures you’re taking. Stage them with cute accessories so people can get an idea of what to pair it with. Make sure there is good lighting. Better pictures sell.
3.) Include all the important items in the title like brand, color, size, condition. Things like that will help grab the attention of people searching for items. It will also help pull up your items when they search for these same specifics.
4.) In the description, include specifics such as if an item runs true to size. How used it is or if it’s brand new. How it fits including measurements, etc. Include everything you would want to know when shopping online for an item. This will also save time so people don’t have to keep asking questions about fit that you could have already answered from the beginning.
5.) Share other people’s closets and make friends. One of the easiest ways to sell more items? Share other people’s items so they will reciprocate. This will get you more eyes on your items which will in return get you more followers and more sales.
6.) Think about offering a coupon or a discount for bundling multiple items they purchase from you. This will help entice more people to go ahead and pull the trigger and purchase all your items they’ve been eyeing.
Have you downloaded the Poshmark app yet? What do you think of my Poshmark review? What do you do with your clothing you no longer wear? If so, make sure you follow me @walkinginmem.
