Another spring break has come and gone, and we had a blast! This year, we knew we wanted to stay close to home with Matt’s work schedule. We also ended up being out of our house for several months from the dishwasher leak, so it was nice knowing we were only an hour away from home. This year we chose Oxford as our spring break destination. It was our first thing going there for spring break, and it was Amelia’s first time to visit Oxford with us. It was such a fun week!

I’m not going to lie, I LOVED how laid back this trip was. A short drive and no pressure all week. Just staying in a hotel relaxing, playing and exploring. I love crossing off places on my list when traveling, so I liked knowing that we just had a few things we wanted to do and the rest was up to us and the kids! It really made it relaxing. And honestly, the kids usually love that more too!

We got really lucky while in Oxford with some pretty and sunny weather. If you’re thinking of taking the kids on a trip to Oxford, I’m sharing my top 10 things to do that are family friendly. Check them out below and let me know if you’ve been to any of these places. Where did you go for spring break this year?⠀

Family Friendly Things to Do in Oxford

•Go to an Ole Miss baseball game and sit in left field. It is so family friendly here! And left field has a playground that is just perfect for kids! Make sure you bring your own chair to sit in for the game. And grab snow cones for the kids at the concession stand!

•Grab breakfast at Big Bad Breakfast. This is one of our favorite spots to visit. They also have one in Memphis and 30a, so we love visiting them in each of our favorite cities. Their breakfast is so good!

•Shop for kids’ books + educational toys at Square Books Jr. This bookstore is amazing seriously. There is nothing boring about it! You can find a book on most anything, and even the kids love the store. They have some amazing toys too, and I love that they are all educational.

•Eat ice cream at Oxford Creamery. This is our favorite ice cream spot in town! They also have brownies (Amelia’s favorite), shakes and coffee.

Play at Avent Park, Woodlawn Park & Bailey Branch Park. We went to Avent Park this time, but Oxford has some great parks. This one is a little older, but it’s really big and the kids had a blast there!

•Hike and visit Rowan Oak. Always a favorite spot to stop at, the kids love coming to hike here. And I love touring the house.

•Eat at South Depot Taco Shop. This was a request from the kids each day. Leighton is obsessed with the burrito bowl here. It’s really good, and their service is fast, and it’s super family friendly.

•Get cookies at Insomnia Cookies (they have gluten free!) Yum! This is always on our list each time we are here! They have such good gluten free chocolate chip cookies. Amelia is obsessed with their chocolate chip, and Grayson loves their m&m cookies. They even have ice cream, and Leighton is a fan of their ice cream. There is something for everyone. They deliver the cookies to your door too. Win win!

•Order pizza for a pizza and movie night in. What better way to spend a night in a hotel than to have a pizza night?! They have a Lost Pizza Co. that the kids love here. They don’t have gluten free options though, so I prefer Venice Kitchen. We ate there one night too, and I was super impressed with the pizza and service. It’s a little quiet and maybe not the best for young kids, but they did great, and everyone was happy.

•Stay at Oliver Hotel. I have been raving about this hotel for 6 years now. It is hands down my favorite in Oxford. They just last year changed their name and did tons of renovations. So if you loved it before, you will REALLY love it now even more! They have updated their entire lobby/front desk/restaurant area and the rooms and hallways. They refreshed the patio, and they added a speakeasy, Nightbird, which has amazing drinks for adults. Plus, the food at the restaurant, Kingswood, is incredible, and they can deliver it to your room too. Super convenient for a family of 5!

Our rooms were connected to a veranda, and the kids really loved sitting out side and enjoying the views and eating dinner. Everyone at the hotel was so nice, and the girls loved the special attention they got at the hotel when they gave them a little mini tour. It was so sweet! I was so impressed with the hotel, how it looked and the staff. It is definitely a great spot to stay in Oxford whether you’re bringing the family, on a couple’s trip or a girl’s trip.

Where did you go for spring break? Have you checked out The Oliver Hotel?
