My Summer Guide to Fredericksburg, Texas

A couple weeks ago Matt and spend a week in Fredericksburg, Texas for our annual trip. It was so, so nice and much needed. We ate good food, shopped, saw the sights, wine tasted and just disconnected. It was truly a great week! We visited a bunch of our usual favorites, and we also tried out some new to us places too that are now on our favorites list too. Keep reading for my must visit places and things to do.

The Trueheart Hotel – We always love this hotel! It is made up of several little sunday houses that may look small, but they are so big on style and charm! The one we stayed in had a shower, a tub, a queen sized bed and fireplace in the bedroom, a mini kitchenette and an outdoor shower and front porch. It was perfect! Our favorite feature is that it’s right off Main Street in the heart of town. It’s perfect walking distance to all the best dining and shopping.

Fisher & Weiser – For the second half of the trip, we stayed at Fisher & Weiser’s tiny house. It was just big enough for us! It had a queen sized bed, a full kitchen, a bathroom and shower and a really nice deck with a great view of the gorgeous pond out back. They also have several airstreams on property you can rent, and they have cooking classes several different nights a week you can sign up for. Don’t forget to also stop by Fisher & Weiser while there and pick up your favorite sauces and jams. And Das Peach Haus has the best peaches in town!

Brooke’s Bubble Bar – If you’re looking for something other than wine, like champagne or beer, you’ll want to stop by Brooke’s. It’s super cute and pink, and it is definitely worth visiting for a drink and a super cute picture opportunity!

Barons Creek Vineyards – If you’re looking for a beautiful vineyard to visit for a wine tasting, this is it! It’s one of our favorites that we always have to visit while in town. The wine is good, the charcuterie is delicious, and it’s always such a great, relaxing way to spend the day.

Pedernales Cellars – If you’re looking for a great vineyard with good wine, good views and relaxing vibes, this is definitely it! You will feel right at home here sitting outside and having a glass of wine while looking at Texas hill country views.

Messina Hof – This is another favorite of ours, and has been for over 6 years. We love visiting the Fredericksburg and Grapevine locations. My absolute favorite is the sparkling almond. It pairs so well with all their charcuterie and chocolate. Yum!

Hill Country Herb Garden – If you’re looking for a great lunch, this is a wonderful spot. I got the salmon salad, and it was amazing. They also have shopping here and a spa. It’s such a beautiful property!

Hill & Vine – This is another great spot for lunch or dinner that we have been frequenting for the last few years. They have great food at good prices, and you can sit indoors or outdoors. It has a great vibe and a nice bar inside too.

Cabernet Grill – If you’re looking for a great dining experience from the wine to the food to the dessert, this is your spot. They go above and beyond and pair the best Texas wines with amazing food.

Vaudeville – This was our first time to eat at Vaudeville this trip, and we actually ended up making reservations here twice it was so good! One night we had dinner, and one day we had brunch. It was incredible. And I’m not going to lie, even there lattes were so, so good. I insisted on stopping by each morning for coffee!

Alla Campagna – This newly opened restaurant in town was such a treat to visit. All the decor inside was beautiful. The service was great. And the food was probably my favorite in town. We will definitely be eating here each time we’re in town.

Crossroads – This is another favorite of ours we usually visit each time. It is a steakhouse and saloon. They even have live music and dancing here at night. If you’re looking for a good steak, you’ll want to make a reservation.

Deitz Distillery – This is the perfect way to end the day. Matt loves this distillery, and it’s right beside Fischer & Weiser. It overlooks the pond too, and it’s a great place to grab a drink before dinner or your cooking class and just enjoy the views.
