30 Favorite Places to Take an Out of Town Guest in Memphis, Tennessee

I get asked all the time what some of my favorite spots are in Memphis. And boy do I have a long list of them! Whether you’ve lived your entire life here, you just moved here or you have company in town and want to show them all that our great city has to offer, I’m sharing my top 30 Best of Memphis today. And it’s perfect timing with Spring Break coming up. You might have friends or family coming in town and want to take them out and explore your own city with them. I’ve got you covered!

These are listed in no particular order, but they are all my top favorites. From places to see to things to do, I’ve rounded up the best of the best. These are some of the great places that make Memphis what it is – a diverse city with so much culture, food, music and charm.

The Best of Memphis

1.) Walk around Bass Pro Pyramid and take the elevator up to the glass observation deck.

2.) Have lunch outside at Coastal Fish Company and then walk around Shelby Farms Park.

3.) Have a nice dinner at Itta Bena and then walk downstairs to listen to music at B.B. King’s Blues Club.

4.) Eat dinner at Porch & Parlor Prime Steakhouse.

5.). Walk around Overton Square.

6.) Grab drinks at Tiger & Peacock while you are still at Overton Square.

7.) Have tea at Peabody Memphis and then watch the ducks march.

8.) Eat brunch at Hen House.

9.) Have a dinner date at Catherine & Mary’s.

10.) Walk around Crosstown Concourse and shop and eat. Make sure to try Mempops while there.

11.) Stroll around inside and outside Dixon Gallery & Gardens.

12.) Visit Memphis Botanic Garden and have lunch at their cafe.

13.) Grab a drink at Caption by Hyatt.

14.) See a play at the Orpheum.

15.) Have breakfast at Brother Juniper’s.

16.) Spend a day at the Memphis Zoo.

17.) Grab a beer at Grind City Brewery.

18.) Learn about Memphis music at the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum.

19.) Eat dinner at Flight Restaurant.

20.) Go to a Memphis Grizzlies basketball game.

21.) Have drinks at Bog & Barley.

22.) Tour Graceland.

23.) Eat barbecue at Rendezvous.

24.) Tour the National Civil Rights Museum.

25.) Have brunch at Beauty Shop Restaurant.

26.) Watch the Redbirds play baseball at AutoZone Park.
