I might be just as excited about sharing some toddler room ideas and Leighton’s big girl toddler room as I was the day I shared her nursery reveal, and I NEVER thought I would say that. As you can see, a lot of the little details stayed the same, but we changed so many other things from a crib to a big girl bed, new bedding, a canopy, new pillows, a toy box, a book case, a new ombre rug and a new bow holder. I think it makes it almost completely look like a brand new room! I am seriously in love with it. I would have loved this as a kid. Heck, I would have even loved it as a teenager, or maybe even now (don’t judge lol.)
To say Leighton loves it is an understatement. I would say her 2 favorite things in her room now are her bed and her canopy. So let’s start with the bed. The moment I spotted
this bed last year, I knew this was the one. For some reason I always assumed I would transition her to a normal toddler bed, and then beyond that, I definitely had not given it any thought. But once I saw this one, I knew I 1.) had to get her a daybed and 2.) had to just go ahead and go straight to a twin size bed. I had a daybed growing up until I was 12 (my little sister and I shared a room), and I loved it. Something about it is just so fun. It is half bed/half couch or lounge area. It was just nice having something special and different. And honestly, I love that I didn’t really have to change up the design or flow or her room since the daybed was able to sit against the wall just like the crib did. This bed has 3 huge storage drawers underneath that run the entire width and length of the bed. Come on, we can always use more storage! I decided to put the stuff we didn’t use all day everyday in those drawers like her pjs, swimsuits, purses and winter accessories. It was so nice because it freed up more space in her dresser for more clothing which she needed (girl problems.)
Now I have to talk about this mattress! I can’t even begin to tell you how comfy it is. Shane and I actually love sitting on Leighton’s bed or lying down with her to tell her a story before bed now. It is just that comfortable. This
Tuft & Needle mattress was shipped straight to our door and was so easy to just open up the box, and viola. There was the mattress. Leighton was so excited to see what was in the box and was supposedly helping me drag the mattress to her room though really she just laid on it while I pulled her from one end of the house to the other haha. Tuft & Needle has a 100 day return policy and a 10 year warranty. And honestly Leighton sleeps better now than she ever has, even at nap time. She stays put and doesn’t even get out of her bed, and let me tell you, I was pretty scared that she would get up! It was honestly such an easy transition!
This canopy. Oh my goodness y’all. How amazing is it? It is ombre, it hangs from the ceiling, and it’s the perfect little cozy corner spot for LC. I can’t help but imagine her reading in this corner or even doing her homework or hanging out with friends when she gets older. Yes, I started crying while typing that. = ) We wanted to keep her room really bright and white and then just add in fun touches of color throughout the room with accessories. I think the canopy did that just that along with her ombre rug from
Lorena Canals. This is our 4th Lorena Canals washable rug. Seriously y’all, washable rugs for your toddler rooms, high traffic areas, houses with dogs…they are the way to go! We have already had something spilled on it quite a few times and had to wash it. On days like that, I am so happy to have a washable run.
Two more new additions that you probably notice are
the adorable little house bookcase and the
pink and white toy box. Aren’t they adorable?! They are both
Delta (the same brand as our 2 dressers and even Leighton’s old crib) from
buybuy BABY. I’m not going to lie when I ordered this bookcase, I thought it was going to be much smaller so I envisioned hanging it on the wall, but when I got it in…wow! So, we decided to just sit it on the ground and secure it against the wall. And honestly I am so happy that’s it much bigger than I thought. All of her books were in her playroom, so at night we were having to go back and forth to grab some for bedtime. Now we can fit plenty of new books in her bookcase in her room and even a few puzzles in there to play with. And I love that it looks like an adorable little house which a white picket fence. For the same reason, we got this toy box. We needed more room for toys and wanted to store some books in her room. This toy box has a hinge so it closes slowly on it’s on, so it won’t slam fingers, and it has a spot on both sides to hold some books. It’s perfect to just grab some out before bedtime.
I thought these cute little
Wildkin backpack and
duffle bags would just stay in LC’s closet for trips, but anything she can pack and carry, she is obsessed with. Any time I say we are going to the store, she says hold on, runs to her room and grabs one of her bags and fills it with 1,249 stuffed animals to take with us. And then I remind her we’re just going to the store. We don’t need that many stuffed animals. = ) I love her enthusiasm though haha! I love the adorable little mermaid print on the bags, and Leighton just loves toting them around like they are her purses. Make sure you follow me on
instagram because I’ll be giving away these same bags in any print from Wildkin soon! So, what do you think about my toddler room ideas? How do you like Leighton’s big girl room? I am seriously so excited about it. It is once again my favorite room in the house! I wanted something practical with plenty of storage space and room to grow up without it looking too “kiddy”, and I think that’s exactly how it came out. Happy Monday everyone. See you back tomorrow for the Trend Spin Linkup and a giveaway. = )

I love her space! So cute!
I love it. It looks beautiful! Would you consider maybe putting in a pretty chandelier or a white fan? That is the only area that did not seem to coordinate. I also love the white with the pops of color- great idea!
So adorable, she must love it!
