Spring Cleaning Tips to Save Time: 5 Easy Hacks by lifestyle blogger Laura from Walking in Memphis in High Heels

It’s that time of year – spring!  I am one of those type A, obsessive cleaning people, but when it comes to the deep cleaning, I am not a big fan.  You know what I’m talking about – cleaning out tubs and toilets, cleaning widows and cleaning microwaves and fridges.  Sweeping and vacuuming and keeping everything clutter-free?  Yep, I am good at that!

With spring here, I am ready to do a little spring cleaning in my house.  It’s the perfect time to do some organizing, deep cleaning and redecorating to have a fresh, clean start in your home this spring.  With that hour we lost last month from daylight savings time, I’m sharing my favorite 5 spring cleaning tips to help you gain back that hour and then some!
1.)  Use a new paper coffee filter with Windex®. on it instead of a paper towel or newspaper to clean all the glass surfaces in your home.  It will work even better than newspaper without any ink residue left behind on your hands, and it will leave your windows steak free!
2.)  Cut up a lemon and put it in a bowl of water.  Heat it in the microwave for a spick and span microwave interior.  And bonus, it smells great too!
3.)  Use a pair of stockings to clean the dust off your candles.  We have candlesticks in our living room, and I am always wondering how to get the dust off of them without having to “wash” them!
4.) Use a little mayonnaise to help get that sticker residue left behind on practically anything you buy these days!
5.)  Clean your couch with baking soda.  Just sprinkle a little on your couch, let it sit for 20 minutes, and then vacuum it up.  It will remove odors and help  break up stains, and it works like magic!
When it comes to cleaning certain things in our house, have you noticed that we sometimes become content living with the dirt?  For instance, if our bathtubs were as dirty as the windows throughout our house, we would immediately clean them!  When it comes to glass surfaces though, we actually have different standards and let it get much dirtier than most any other surface in our house.  This is kind of funny when you think about it considering glass is clear, and you can tell how dirty it is just by glancing at it.  And I am totally guilty of this though!
Every time I’m grocery shopping at Kroger, I make sure to pick up my favorite cleaning supplies I may be out of like Windex® Original Glass Cleaner and Windex® Original Glass Wipes.  Windex® Original Glass Cleaner is actually America’s number one glass cleaner.
But it’s not just for glass.  Did you know that it also cleans: Windows, mirrors, sealed marble, sealed granite, stainless steel, UV-protected windows, factory-installed low-E coated windows, glass top stoves, glass shower doors, glass frames and other glass décor, bathroom fixtures like those made of chrome, lead or flint glass, plexiglas, lucite, tile, plastic, vinyl and aluminum?!  Make sure you check out Windex® to get most all your surfaces clean.  Don’t stand for dirty.  Have you tried Windex®?  What do you neglect when spring cleaning?  What are your favorite spring cleaning tips?  P.S.  Make sure you check out Windex® on Facebook and twitter, their Social Hub website here and their Don’t Stand for Dirty website here.
