We have lived here now for 4 years, and I have been struggling on how to decorate my front porch for the entire time. We have a very small front porch, and I have been puzzled on how exactly to style it. Most planters are too wide to fit alongside the front door. I have really struggled finding the perfect size until I found these planters. They are very tall but slim, and they are perfect! They are everything I wanted.
I love that these planters come in several different colors. They even have different shapes and sizes too, so you can coordinate and buy multiples for other places inside our outside your home. After I picked out the planters, I already knew I wanted greenery to go in them. I have always wanted boxwoods, but they are pretty pricey and they don’t like quite as much sunshine as I get at the front door. That led me to ivy. Ivy does well with sun and shade, and it is usually pretty easy to tend to also. Then I added a boxwood wreath, and I already had this fabulous doormat. I love how it looks now! It was so boring before. If you’re looking to update your small front porch, check out my tips below.
1.) Start with a blank, clean slate. Clean off your porch and get it ready to be decorated.
2.) Be realistic about what will fit in the space. Though there are SO many things I wanted to do, it’s just not practical. I can’t fit furniture or large overflowing planters like I wanted. So it’s important to be realistic.
3.) I would next start with furniture (if you can fit any) or planters. These will be the largest part of the decor you’re adding. Start by measuring your space and find something that fits.
4.) Pick out your plants based on what will work in your space (sun or shade, how much maintenance and what you like.)
5.) Add the finishing touches like a doormat, a wreath, pillows, etc.
