Happy Hump Day!  Today I’m participating in the Messy Project!  You can check out Kelly’s page for more details, but basically it means that you sign up, Kelly sends you an item and then you style it your way.  It could be a shirt, pants, skirt – anything!  She even does a Mini Messy Project which includes jewelry and any kind of accessories you can think of!  I participated in the Mini Messy Project a couple of months ago.  What I like about the Messy Project is that each person is styling the same item, but usually really differently.  5 different girls are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and do something maybe they wouldn’t normally do.  This month the item was the Forever 21 coral and white striped top.  It is a cotton material in the back and a blousey material in the front with a hi-low hem.  This is a style that I actually used to wear, but now that I work in the corporate world, I’ve caught myself wearing much dressier stuff – even outside of work.  I’ve gotten to where I try to find items that work double duty – to wear to the office and to wear out.  But, after I looked at this top a little more, I realized I could easily wear it to work.  It would look great with a pencil skirt, espcially if you mixed prints and paired it with floral.  As usually is the case, I decided to style this outfit for outside of work – with black leggings, my favorite Zara pumps and my new leather jacket.  I think this would be a fun going out look, but it’s still cute, trendy and even comfortable.  When I got home last night, even Shane approved.  Actually he said, you wore that to work?  I take that as a compliment.  = )  How would you style this top?  How would you dress it up, and how would you dress it down?  Don’t forget to enter the giveaways here, here and here.
Today I’m linking up with Shanna, Alison and Lindsey.

  1. I love the top and the way you styled it! I love buying double duty items too. As I've gotten older I find it harder to buy things that Are limited to one place or the other, but every now and then, I really love a splurge.

  2. i LOVE the white leather jacket with this top! could not be more fabulous!! you look so pretty and I could not have asked for a better job! your hair looks fabulous too! thank you so much for all your hard work! You went above & beyond and had so much fun having you apart of both projects! please come back & play anytime!!!!! XOXO
