I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! Shane’s dad ended up coming in town and staying with us for a couple of days, so it was nice to see him, and it was his first time to see our new house since we moved downtown last year. He got in late on Friday night, so we gave him a golf cart ride around the neighborhood and picked up pizza from Movie & Pizza Co. The next morning we felt like brunch so we decided to go to South of Beale not realizing that they only serve brunch on Sundays. This long weekend through off my schedule. On Friday, I thought it was Saturday and so on. Since I was still in breakfast mode, I found the most breakfast-like item on the menu and ordered it. I got the Shrimp & Pimento Cheese Grits. They were amazing. If you like shrimp, grits and cheese, I definitely recommend it. It was very cheesy though, so make sure you like cheese before you order this one. Shane and his dad both got burgers, and they both said they were great. And since that wasn’t enough cheese, I even ordered a cheese plate for my appetizer. It’s possible that I like cheese. If you’re in Memphis, South of Beale has a great atmosphere, great food and a nice patio (but it was 100 degrees that day so we stayed indoors.)
Saturday night I went out to Local with two other Memphis bloggers, Cameron and Brenda. We stayed and talked for hours and had a great time. It was nice having a girls’ night for sure! On Sunday Shane and I did a little swimming until it started pouring raining (welcome to Memphis), and on Monday we got the yorkies groomed and did a little shopping while we were waiting on them for a few hours. It was a great weekend. I actually feel completely rested and caught up and ready for the busy work and school week ahead.
Today I have teamed up with Derng to give away a $50 credit to their online shop. They have a great selection of jewelry. I have their Cross Bangle, but it is sold out right now. I also love this necklace and this one too. To enter the giveaway, just use the rafflecopter widget below.

You look darling! And so cheerful with yellow and that great skirt! The light is really fun too in these photos.
P.S. See if you can spot the lace in my styling. It's small, but still very much loved! 🙂
