Happy New Year ladies!! I hope everyone had a fun but safe night. On our day off yesterday, Shane and I went to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and then we ate at Gus’ Fried Chicken in downtown Memphis (seen here on Instagram.) I recommend both! Probably not the food I should started the new year out with, but it was SO good! I highly recommend the movie too. It was a comedy, adventure and love story all in one. Shane and I both loved it. Ben Stiller was great, and now I think he finally has a renewed interest in traveling again (let’s hope so!) = )
Thanks for stopping by for the Day to Night Series! Every two weeks I will pick a different item to style with a different blogger. One person will style it more casually for day, and the other will dress it up for night. This week the item is a gingham button down. Gingham has been huge this year. I’ve seen it with stripes, polka dots, sequins, plaid and so much more! Danielle from Miss Glam Dan wore her gingham shirt a little more casually for day by pairing it with a casual houndstooth skirt, flats and a cardigan. I absolutely love that skirt on Danielle, and I love that we both mixed our gingham with houndstooth! Make sure you stop by Danielle’s blog to see her outfit details! I dressed up my gingham top by pairing it with a houndstooth pencil skirt, a faux leather jacket and lace-up heels. This is one of my new favorite skirts from Riff Raff, and they even have it in hot pink! I think it will be perfect to wear to work too. Do you like both of our print mixing? Do you like to wear your gingham for day or night?
You saw Danielle above styling a gingham shirt and houndstooth skirt with me, but I want you to get to know her a little bit better. She is the blogger behind Miss Glam Dan and a personal stylist. Miss Glam Dan is where she showcases her outfits, her style and her life. Her sassy and slightly over the top personality matches her style that is full of polka dots, leopard print and lots of sequins. Who wouldn’t love that?! When she’s not instagramming her manicures or binge watching TV shows on Netflix, she’s working as a real estate marketing director. I really think you will love here girly, classic but bold style, so make sure you stop by and say hello to Danielle!
Love this look! The mix of print is amazing!! Love your style, as always! 🙂

I know I'm supposed to be looking at the top but I love the houndstooth skirt your sporting today.
I love that the houndstooth is so big & chunky in the skirt. I'm so used to seeing it as a tiny print. Love it!
Love your print mixing!

The mix of these prints are wonderful!
I really love how both of you styled the shirt. It's funny that you both paired it with the same print, maybe it's because it's so fabulous! Happy new year, I'm glad you had a good start to the year. 🙂

I have those same heels and I can't believe that I haven't thought of pairing them with a houndstooth skirt yet. The mix of prints looks really polished and well thought-out; I'll have to steal this look as inspiration!
