My favorite feature to play up has always been my eyes. I love to create a look that really makes my eyes stand out, but I definitely don’t have time for fake eyelashes. Not only do I not have time for them, they are messy, complicated, and I can never get them to stay on correctly for very long. Then you have to take them off and do the same thing over whenever you want to wear them. Who has time for that? I would much rather apply a mascara that gives the same effect of fake eyelashes without all the hassle. I wanted to create a bold look that really made my eyes pop, but I wanted it to be easy and fit into my 5 minute “mom” beauty routine also. I recently went on a big beauty haul at Walmart to try out some new products that I’ve been eyeing – Maybelline’s Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara and Maybelline’s Brow Fashion Pro Palette. By the way, I’m one of those people who definitely could not make it on a deserted island without their mascara. That and lip balm are my 2 must-have products wherever I go!
This mascara is much better than I ever could have imagined. I have been a long-time fan of some of Maybelline’s other mascaras, but this one is definitely one of my new favorites. It goes on thick, dark and bold, but it doesn’t crumble and flake off like some do. I also didn’t end up with that caked on “spider legs” eye look like I’ve seen before too. To really play up your eyes, I prefer to first apply a coat of mascara. Let it dry, and then apply another coat. Then I use the brow palette to brush and fill in my brows. I also use the brow palette as eye shadow too, so it does double duty. I use the dark brown on my eyelids and the lighter color on my brow bones to help highlight my eyes even more. As the final touch, I curl my eyelashes. I know most people curl their eyelashes first, but I have better luck with my eyelashes really curling well when they already have a little mascara on them instead of being bare. With the darker colors that are in style for fall, I think dark, bold eyes that really pop are the perfect compliment to them. Have you tried Maybelline’s new Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara? Which brow product are you looking forward to trying the most?
I just saw a commercial for this and decided I really, really needed to try it out! Your post just cemented that 🙂
