Leighton is One!

I cannot believe today is Leighton’s birthday!Β  It has been one amazing, crazy, fast year that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world!Β  We had her party last Saturday at a local park and decided to go with a Cinderella / fall pumpkin theme.Β  After we came up with a theme, we had the invitations made.Β  Local Memphis artist, Sarah from Signet Sealed, designed and drew the invitations herself.Β  I told her I wanted them to be girly, colorful and whimsical, and I think she perfectly captured exactly that.
After we had the invitations made, I felt like it was a good starting point to decide how we wanted to decorate for the party.Β All of the decorations we usedΒ are from Kate Aspen.Β  How adorable are those little carriage party favors?Β  We even put little pumpkin candy corn in each of them for everyone to take home.Β Β We useΒ these adorable little place card holders as picture holders to display each of her monthly photos from the last 12 months.Β  We then cut these beautiful straws in half andΒ added these flags to make cupcake toppers.
Despite only having napped for an hour, Leighton was in a fun and playful mood, and she was ready to eat (as always!)Β  She topped off her meal with her first cupcake, and she definitely enjoyed it and knew exactly what to do to destroy it.Β  = )Β  After the party, she took a nice 2.5 hour nap which gave me just enough time toΒ unbox all her gifts and get them in her playroom just in time for her to wake up and play.Β  I can’t believe how fast the day flew by.Β  I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for our little family.Β  = )
