Creating Good Dental Habits

Good dental hygiene has always been important to me since as long as I can remember.  I’ve always been that person who loves to go to the dentist.  I love the feeling I get when leaving with clean, healthy and strong teeth.  Since having Leighton, good oral care has all of a sudden become even more important to me and Shane.  At 14 months old, we noticed Leighton had some strange discoloring on her teeth, so we took her for her first dental appointment.  She was diagnosed with enamel hypoplasia which basically means that the enamel did not completely form on some of her teeth.  It means those 4 teeth are much softer than most teeth, and therefore more susceptible to cavities.

We immediately started brushing Leighton’s teeth 3 times a day to help prevent cavities.  This new diagnosis has also helped to reinforce to us how important oral care and enamel health really is.  We just recently switched to Colgate Enamel Health Mineral Repair Toothpaste.  Previously, we had never given much thought to the enamel on our teeth.  Now we think about it and talk about it all the time.  It’s one of those things where you don’t give it much thought until it’s a problem.  Now that we see what Leighton is going through (she has to get caps on 4 teeth), we want to make sure that we are taking the best possible care for our teeth.  We also have turned brushing our teeth into a family activity.  Brushing our teeth together helps promote good dental hygiene, and it shows Leighton that it is fun and a part of our daily routine that we do each day.
Colgate Enamel Health Mineral Repair Toothpaste helps to repair your teeth’s weakened enamel and helps to prevent cavities.  It also helps to build increasing protection against teeth sensitivity while whitening and freshening breath.  Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you.
Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t just stop with the food we eat, the exercise we do or the moisturizers we use, it also involves good oral health.  It is just as important to our long term health.  Similar to how we use moisturizers to replenish our skin, using this toothpaste twice daily can help strengthen weakened enamel by replenishing it with vital minerals for strong, healthy enamel.

Colgate Enamel Health Mineral Repair Toothpaste also provides protection against sensitivity and cavities with continued use, in addition to providing whitening and fresh breath benefits.  Strengthening and repairing your enamel from everyday wear and tear can be part of your daily personal healthy lifestyle routine with the new Colgate Enamel Health Mineral Repair Toothpaste.  What healthy habits are you creating for your family?
