This dress y’all. It is even comfier than it looks. It is super soft cotton with some stretch to it, but it is still lightweight for the heat. Shabby Apple always has me drooling over their amazing dress collection. I wore this outfit last weekend while shopping with Leighton and hitting up Jones Orchard for some fresh fruit. I paired it with this olive green utility vest from Evereve. Prepare yourselves because you will be seeing this vest A LOT. It is the perfect lightweight layering piece. I paired these with my new gladiator tassel sandals (they’re 50% off right now!) my mom bought me in Vegas and this pretty purse that Leighton obviously thinks is hers. I’m going to have to start carrying bigger purses again. Every time I wear one that is a little on the small size, she instantly thinks it’s hers. = )
We thought it would be fun to both wear stripes today, and how cute are these striped denim shorts from Wildly Co.? Their summer collection just recently dropped, and it oozes both comfort and style. This adorable yellow polka dot top is from Wildly Co. too. What makes Wildly Co different is that they create capsule wardrobes for kids. Ever end up with pieces that don’t match, are too expensive and never even get worn? Yep, been there. Still there. With summer finally here, I’ve found myself looking for more and more things to do with Leighton on the weekends. We want to take advantage of everything that summer has to offer. I’ve rounded up my 5 favorite summer activities in Memphis below. What is your favorite thing to do in the summertime?
1.) The Orpheum Summer Movie Series. With movies from Muppet Treasure Island to Karate Kid and many more, there is something for almost every age. Tickets are only $8 for adults and $6 for kids, and some of the showings are actually before Leighton’s bedtime (yay!)
2.) Shelby Farms. From paddleboat riding to ziplining to horseback riding, the possibilities are endless with what you and your family can do. And have you seen the playground there lately?! There is even a stroller strides class that you and your little one can go to.
3.) Visit the Pink Palace. Their new dinosaur exhibit opens this weekend. Or you could even see a movie in their 3D theater.
4.) Visit the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis, and watch the ducks march to and from the fountain. It takes place daily at 11:00am and 5:00pm.
5.) Visit one of the Farmers Markets in Memphis. There are many around town, or if you’re up for it, you could even pick your own fruit from Jones Orchard. Leighton and I had some blueberries and peaches from there last weekend, and they were so good!
