Back to School Shoe Shopping

This post is sponsored by Shoe Carnival, but all opinions are 100% my own.

School shopping has always been one of my favorite times of the year.  Picking out trapper keepers, Lisa Frank folders and of course new shoes!  No first day of school is complete without new shoes.  I’m so excited to be teaming up with Shoe Carnival again today to show you another perfect back to school pair of shoes for this year.  You need a casual everyday wear pair, a dressy pair and an athletic pair.  I can’t believe Leighton will be 3 next year, and we are debating on putting her in the 3-k program where I went to school.  She may not be in school yet, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t do some back to school shopping this year!
Leighton goes to daycare Monday through Friday 10 hours each day.  And as long as it is above 50 or so and isn’t snowing or raining, you better believe they will be outdoors.  Leighton loves to be outside, and she plays hard on the playground!  When I was picking out shoes for her for this year, I wanted to make sure I got some great shoes that could carry her through this next year – casual, dressy and athletic.  This casual pair of Keds will be our go-to pair most days, but occasionally Shane just loves to put her in a pair of Nikes, some shorts and a t-shirt for an extra casual play day at daycare.  It works out perfectly though, because she would run around on the playground, stomp in the mud and rustle in the leaves all day if we would let her.  Occasionally Leighton’s daycare class has parties or dress-up days (think school pictures too!), so you will definitely need to have a dressy pair of shoes for those days.
I bought Leighton the cutest pair of “big girl” Keds.  That’s right, actual shoestrings (and ironically, mine don’t have shoestrings.)  = )  No school year is complete without Keds in my opinion.  You might remember we dressed Leighton’s other Keds down here with a romper, but her shoes can just as easily be dressed up with a pretty gingham and ruffled dress for school.  And since I couldn’t resist not matching her, I picked up this adorable pair of Keds too for myself.  These are the perfect outfits and shoes for back to school style.  Have you done your back to school shoe shopping yet?  What are your favorite back to school shoe styles?

  1. I'm not necessarily in "need" of shoes, but I absolutely love the idea of buying new shoes for the fall and winter months aka "back to school". I'm actually so glad I never have to go back to school again, but I do love fresh kicks πŸ˜‰ xx Adaleta Avdic
