We’ve only been back from vacation a couple weeks ago, and I am already counting down to our next trip…which happens tomorrow! Shane is in a wedding in CT this weekend, so we are going up a couple days early to hang out together in NY. He’s never been, and I’ve only been for 24 hours (which was nowhere near long enough), so we are pretty pumped! While we’re out of town for the wedding this week, Leighton is going to have a ball spending time with her meme, poppop and grandma. She will get to do lots of swimming in grandma’s pool (Shane’s mom), and I’m sure my mom will probably take her to the lake for the weekend, so she definitely won’t be missing out on anything!
I think my vacation wear for NY this week may look a little different than it did here for FL. We all ate dinner one night at Casino Beach. It was the coolest little restaurant on the beach. It had tables indoors and out, and Shane and Leighton even went to go play in the sand and water while we were waiting on our food to arrive. For dinner we wore some lightweight casual pieces that were perfect for the beach and vacation wear. This chambray skirt is the softest ever. And I’ve been wearing this top from Red Dress Boutique at least twice a week since I got it. I love the cute ruffled sleeves and how light and flowy it is. I’m obsessed with these pretty new wedges I picked up in NY a couple weeks ago, and of course when on the beach, you have to have a floppy hat! Both my top and my hat are from Red Dress Boutique, and I’ll warn you, you will become obsessed with this online boutique! They have some of the cutest pieces, and I want everything for my summer vacation wear!
As excited as we are about going out of town this week, I cannot wait to get back just in time for Memorial Day. That’s when all the pools and splash pads open up in the Memphis area, and we plan to spend all day Monday cooking out and then playing at the splash pad. That is one of our favorite things to do after a long day of work in the summer. What are your favorite ways to spend the summer? What is your favorite vacation wear style?
