Last week Shane and I got the chance to team up with Royal Caribbean again along with Little Lovelies and Happily Hughes for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise. This was my second Royal Caribbean cruise, and this was Shane’s first. It was actually Shane’s first cruise in 10 years, so he was excited to finally go on another one (since our honeymoon) and see what this Eastern Caribbean cruise would be like. We started in Fort Lauderdale, FL and cruised to the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Kitts. I had been to all of these places before except for St. Kitts, so that was a new stop for me.
First up on day 2 of our Eastern Caribbean cruise was the Bahamas, and we decided to do a swimming with dolphins excursion with Dolphin Cay at Atlantis. It was so neat. The dolphins were so sweet and so smart, and the trainers truly love them and love working with them. We got to hug and pet them and kiss them, and let me tell you, they feel so different than how I imagined. I couldn’t stop touching them haha. It was such a fun experience, but I can already tell you that we will have to come back and bring Leighton. I think she would love it even more! After swimming with dolphins, we had lunch and then spent some time at the beach. There were so many great beaches at Atlantis, and they were all so pretty. It might actually be one of my favorite beaches that we went to.
On day 3, we were on the ship cruising to St, Thomas, Virgin Islands. There were so many things to do on this Eastern Caribbean cruise ship. We rock climbed, we swam, we laid out, we shopped, we watched concerts and shows, and we hit the gym and track. Shane and I even rented a few movies in the room and slept in and relaxed a couple days. Whether we wanted to explore the ship or just chill, there was plenty to keep us busy. We stayed in a stateroom with a balcony, and I definitely recommend always getting a room with a balcony. It is so nice having the pretty view, and I love being able to see the beaches from our room as we pull up to our new destination each day.
On day 4, we pulled up to St. Thomas. Shane and I actually cruised to St. Thomas on our honeymoon 10 years ago, so we were so excited to be back! St. Thomas is always one of my favorites. They have such pretty beaches, great shopping and some of my favorite snorkeling. Shane and I decided to just have a nice long beach day in St. Thomas. We went to a local beach that was only about 5 minutes away and we soaked up the sun and water and had lunch there on the water.
On day 5 of our Eastern European Cruise, we pulled up to St. Kitts. Though the sand was really dark and not as pretty as the other beaches, the scenery was so pretty in St. Kitts. We stayed at the beach all day in St. Kitts too, and we even got to play with monkeys at the beach. We had a 30 minute drive to Turtle Beach, but it was worth it. The drive there was just stunning. It started to rain for a bit on the beach, but there was a cute little bar there on the water, so we all just piled in at the bar and sang and danced until it stopped. = ) This was probably one of our favorite days on the beach!
On day 6 and 7, our Eastern Carribean Cruise was traveling back to Florida, so we had more time to explore and lay out (and eat of course!) We had dinner at the main dining room most nights, but we also tried out a couple of the specialty restaurants, an Italian restaurant, Giovanni’s, and the sushi restaurant, Izumi. They were both really good, but I think the Italian restaurant was our favorite. We also ate plenty of buffet at Windjammers which is perfect for lunch. We also tried out room service for dinner one night, and their salmon and filet was SO good. It was fun getting dressed up for dinner thanks to Rent the Runway a couple nights but also having the option to stay casual and keep it low key a couple nights too. I cannot wait to go back again, and I will definitely be taking Leighton next time. I’m thinking a girl’s trip is long overdue!
Thanks to Royal Caribbean for partnering on today’s post. This post was not paid, but I did receive a cruise.
