Leighton and I are on the go A LOT, and whether you’re a mom or not, I’m sure you can relate to how hard it is to eat something that is actually nutritious as on the go snacks. It’s so easy to just reach for super portable foods which often times are actually just junk food. The best way for me to actually eat something that is good for me and Leighton is to be prepared and pack something to take with us. That’s why whenever we leave the house for at least an hour, I always pack some on the go snacks with us. And these Garden Lites Superfood Veggie Cakes are some of my new favorites.
These veggie cakes
are vegetarian and are gluten free. They are made of carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, red peppers and brown rice. Whether they’re for you or for your toddler, they are SO good, and are actually good for you! They come frozen so I usually just throw them in a little lunch box when we are out and let them thaw out to room temperature to eat them as our on the go snacks. And when I’m at home, I just pop them in the oven to heat them up. They are perfect as a side dish with lunch or dinner or even as a snack.
And with a name like veggie “cake”, your toddler might actually like them too. Leighton has eaten them quite a few times (mom win over here!) You might remember me talking about Garden Lites’ muffins here
last week. If you’re looking for a way to add in more veggies to your or your child’s diet, I think you will definitely love the convenience of Garden Lites’ products. Right now you can print off a $1 coupon to try any of the Garden Lites products
and find a store near you that sells these on the go snacks. What are some of your favorite healthy on the go snacks? How do you squeeze more veggies in and eat healthy while on the go?
