Linen and summer go hand in hand. If you didn’t know, the fabric is actually super breathable thanks to the way it is woven. That is why it is so perfect for summer and all this heat! I love a good lightweight piece. Just be sure to pack your steamer (I’ll be sharing my favorites here soon too!)
Tips for Wearing Linen in the Summer
1.) Go for a fun pop of color with linen! Sure, a classic white piece is always great, but for an unexpected fun, summer look, a colorful, summery piece is perfect! Just make sure to add other summery pieces to keep your look light and airy. You want to make sure the entire outfit has a summer look to it without anything too “heavy.”
I went with a fun and colorful hot pink linen dress and added some fun studded sandals and a lightweight straw bag with tassels. It all screams summer!
2.) Style your linen with a classic white tee. See, you knew I wouldn’t forget a good, crisp look. = ) There is just something about a classic all white look (with added pineapples on my shorts) in linen.
I found these fun pineapple print shorts with a belt and paired them with a classic white blouse. A white tee would be just as cute! Just make sure your shorts are tailored and fit well and not too baggy. This outfit would also look great paired with sandals or even some white sneakers for an updated take on a classic linen look.
3.) Avoid boxy pieces. And a bonus is trying linen in flowy, longer lengths. I love how this dress looks. It is so comfortable and so lightweight for summer. On cool nights, pair it with a lightweight jacket for a more tailored look too. It would pair perfectly with the fun little structured bag I’m carrying.
