Shop the Halloween Home Decor
Each year I add a few new Halloween home decor pieces, and this year I took a little trip to HomeGoods to pick up some last minute pieces. If you’re anything like me, you have to get all your holiday decor and put it out just to see what you have. I love to do this instead of just blindly ship for what I “think” I might need. That ends with spending too much money for pieces that already have, don’t need or won’t use. So first things first, I put out all my decor that I still liked and wanted to use. Then I order pieces from places like HomeGoods, Target, Walmart, Etsy and Amazon. You can always find so many pieces that are such a steal like this Samsung tv art. What an easy way to decorate by adding a fun art image!
At HomeGoods, I was able to pick up several items I loved – some spooky pillows, some metal spiders I put on my built-ins, that adorable Trick or Treat sign on my mantle and even some more pumpkins and vase filler. There are so many great options these days that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get great holiday decor. Just like and outfit, it is just fine to mix high and low items. Spend more on your larger staples that you want to be quality items. And then search for deals on smaller, trendier items that you can mix and match in.
For our kitchen table, I started with some of my nice Makenzie Childs pieces. They are so pretty and are so high quality and well made. They definitely elevate any space, and I was able to mix in some inexpensive witch’s hats that were only a few dollars each to finish off a fun space that the kids would love too. This is a great example of a high and low space! For more inspiration for a Halloween tablescape, check out this post.
One of my easiest and most inexpensive ways to decorate a space for Halloween is to grab some of these little bats. You can get them in so many different qualities, and they are so easy and fun to put up. You can tailor any space to how you want it. They look great indoors and out too. Some of my favorite spots are on mantles, mirrors or even on windows. Get the kids involved too. Leighton helped me with the bats and had so much fun! Another inexpensive decor item is pumpkins, mice, crows, spiders and owls. They are easy and inexpensive to throw in with your other favorite decor you already have.
What are your favorite stores for inexpensive Halloween decor? Do you like mixing high and low priced pieces too?
