You probably remember that I visited Gulf Shores, Alabama a few months ago for the first time in several years. I had an absolute blast. There was so much to see, so much to do there and so much good food to eat. All I could think about the entire time I was there was how I couldn’t wait to come back and bring the kids! We just got back from our beach trip with the kids, and boy did they have fun! We explored and played nonstop, and everyone had so much fun!
The great thing about Gulf Shores is how clear the water is, how pretty the beaches are, how kid friendly it is and how affordable it is. It makes for a perfect beach trip. In case you’re looking to visit with your family soon, I am sharing the top 10 kid friendly things to do and places to visit while there. Keep reading and let me know if you’ve tried any of these spots in Gulf Shores.
.) Ride waterslides at OWA Parks & Resort – This is a newer resort that has so much to offer! They have an indoor/outdoor waterpark and an amusement park also. We went down waterslides indoors almost all day. It was so much fun! They have areas that are great for all ages of kids and adults. Afterwards, we rode some of the roller coasters, and they were great! We also loved that the day we went it was not crowded one bit!
.) Go parasailing – Always a favorite of ours in Gulf Shores! Depending on the age of your kids, parasailing could be fun way to spend the day.
.) Build sand castles on the beach – The kids always love this! Grayson always takes his dump truck to load up the sand, and then the girls build the castles.
.) Ride go-carts at The Track – We have been coming here for 25 years, and it’s still just as much fun. They have more than just go-carts here, but the go-carts are particularly our favorite here. All the kids loved them so much! We even did bumper boats too.
.) Go fishing – We have taken the kids fishing a couple times now, and they absolutely love it. It’s such a great way to introduce them to fishing and let them explore too. It’s perfect for all ages!
.) Eat and play in the foam at The Hangout – The hangout is a good seafood restaurant that has so much to keep the kids busy while waiting on your table. They have tunnels, sand, foam parties and live music all outdoors. And they have both indoor and outdoor seating for dining.
.) Eat and do the ropes course while at LuLu’s – This is another great seafood spot that is family friendly. While waiting for our table, the kids did the ropes courses, but they also have sand, volleyball, hair braiding, caricature drawing, an arcade and more. It’s right on the water, so it’s nice to overlook it while eating dinner.
.) Go on a crab hunt at night – You can’t leave without hunting for crabs at night. You just need a bucket, a net and a flashlight. The kids had so much fun running around looking for crabs!
.) Explore historic Fort Morgan – Kids will love exploring the barracks, tunnels and towers at the historic fort and military site.
.) Go sailing or on a dolphin cruise – What kid wouldn’t enjoy this?! And a bonus is that the adults will love it just as much too! 100% recommend for a memorable trip!
