If you’re looking for the cutest little DIY for Valentine’s Day that is also super easy and fun, this is it! I already had plenty of taper candles at home, so all I needed to buy was this little wax stick kit, and that’s all you need to create the cutest candles! I made 2 different sets, and the great thing is that they aren’t just adorable for Valentine’s Day. You can make and show these off any time of year. If you’re going for bows, think Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas. Seriously, they would be cute anytime. And it wouldn’t be that hard to make hearts, stars or any other fun design for an upcoming holiday.
I just couldn’t resist, so I added hot pink onto white candles. I love how feminine and colorful they turned out! Leighton saw them and absolutely fell in love. I think it would also be such a FUN idea to do with friends or kids too. It would be a great girls’ night, and I think it would even be a great birthday party idea for tweens. The possibilities are endless!
For the candles below, you know I love blue and white decor. I had several different colored blue taper candles, and these were perfect to add white little bows onto. I kept these easy and simple and just added 1 little bow to each of them. It lends such a classic look to your dining room tablescape. And it fits in with my everyday decor. I plan to keep these cuties up well past Valentine’s Day, and can you blame me?!
All you need to do to create your own DIY candles is to decide what colored candles and designs you want and order them. Then decide on the design you want to add onto the candle. Cut the wax sticks so they are the perfect length for your design, and then apply them to your candles. Press hard to make sure that the wax adheres to the candles and will stay. Viola, you have the cutest candles!
