Skin Procedures by Age

Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed by all the skin procedures out there?! Trust me, you’re not alone! There are so many, so how do we know which ones we need and when?? I have felt just as overwhelmed as you, so today I wanted to share a guideline that has been so helpful. A post from Mrs.Derm along with my local dermatologist, Levy Dermatology, helped me to compile this list with the best skin procedures by age. Keep in mind that this is just a guideline. If you have lines that remain on your face after frowning or smiling, you may want botox sooner. If you have have more redness and blood vessels, you may want to get IPL soon. This is just a guideline based on only your age and what could be a good idea if your skin needs it. First and foremost, find a dermatologist you love and trust, and schedule a consultation to get their opinion.

  • Vitamin C
  • SPF
  • Retinol
  • Microneedling
  • Moxi

In Your 30’s

  • Vitamin C
  • SPF
  • Retinol
  • Botox
  • Microneedling
  • IPL/BBL
  • Moxi
  • Halo

In Your 40’s

  • Vitamin C
  • SPF
  • Retinol
  • Botox
  • Microneedling
  • IPL/BBL
  • Moxi
  • Halo
  • V Beam

In Your 50’s & Up

  • Vitamin C
  • SPF
  • Botox
  • Microneedlding
  • IPL/BBL
  • Moxi
  • Halo
  • V Beam
  • CO2 Resurfacing Laser

I genuinely wish I would have had a list like this sooner. I was 35 when I started getting botox, 40 when I first got microneedling and 41 when I first got BBL and Moxi and started using vitamin C and retinol. It is much easier to maintain something than to start behind and try to fix something later. Ladies, use that vitamin C and SPF every morning and retinol every night starting now. Start there and add in some of these other skincare procedures as preventative measures to take care of your skin as you need them and as your dermatologist recommends them. What are your favorite skincare procedures that you’ve noticed the most difference from?
