A couple weeks ago I was looking at the patio and debating on how to rearrange my furniture out there to host a party, and then I got the idea…why don’t I just put the furniture in the grass?? There is so much more room out back in the yard than on the patio. It would also be sunnier and have much better lighting. So I went with it and last minute decided to throw a garden party. It turned out even better than I ever imagined!
I started by finding a big empty spot in the backyard where I wanted to put everything, then I moved all my gorgeous new Draper James by Polywood outdoor furniture. I moved the coffee table, the chairs and then the couch. I added these pretty little scalloped pillows, and then I brought my bar cart outdoors to make it a serving station. I added a silverware caddy, this pretty little tiered server that is perfect to hold pastries, fruits, desserts, literally anything. And then I started brining in the extra little touches that make it a garden party. I brought over some of my favorite planters and flowers and vases with some fresh flowers from the farmer’s market.
I love how it all came together. The colors of the flowers and the pillows really make it pop I think. This ended up being such a colorful yet relaxing little spot in our backyard. And it seats 5 people which is just perfect for a small little garden party filled with just close friends. I’m thinking next year I need to even do it sooner for Mother’s Day. What a fun and special way to spend the day. = )
What do you think about the finished space? I am so happy with it and seriously wish I could keep it like this year-round. We will definitely be spending most days eating outside this summer in this pretty little space. Will you be throwing an garden parties soon?
