A Cozy Cabin Stay in Asheville, North Carolina

You might remember me sharing about our summer trip to Asheville, North Carolina here. We had such a great time together, and I think part of that was definitely thanks to Asheville River Cabins. This was our first time to stay at Asheville River Cabins, and we didn’t know what to expect. I never would have imagined what happened next. The kids loved it so much more than I ever thought they would! I knew they loved cabins. They loved the outdoors. They loved the water. But never did I imagine they would want to spend all day everyday outside in the river at Asheville River Cabins.

We watched people go tubing everyday down the river with Zen Tubing. Asheville River Cabins was located right by this river, and it was so much fun watching people go by tubing every single day. The kids just loved playing in the river so much. They collected rocks, went swimming, and played in the sand. They seriously could have been so happy doing this every single day. We will definitely be coming back, and we will definitely be bringing tubes and floating the river next time when Grayson is just a little bit older.

There was a great spot where you could just walk right down to the river. There was sand and rocks, and the kids had an absolute ball. We carried buckets and shovels, and they built castles and pretended to make bowls of food for us. It was so cute watching them play together with so much imagination and creativity. The river was moving pretty slowly, and the water was actually quite shallow, and the girls loved walking out a bit to collect rocks with Matt.

Now let’s talk about the cabin. We got 2 right next door to fit all 6 of us. They were just the perfect size for us. They had a primary bedroom with a queen sized bed and tv in there. Outside the bedroom was a little coffee area, the bathroom with a stand-up shower, the full kitchen and living room with tv. And upstairs was a loft with 2 beds. The girls loved sleeping up there in the loft. They had their own space, and it was just perfect for them. My dad and Grayson shared the cabin next door, and he insisted on sleeping upstairs in the loft each night too. Out front was a table and chairs, a hot tub and a firepit. And they all overlooked the prettiest river views down below.

The resort had a really cool clubhouse and community area. There they had a sauna, a food truck, a firepit and adirondack chairs with a great view. The entire place was such a cool little community. There were several different accommodations on property like the cabins we stayed in, glass cabins and even airstreams. I personally think this would be such a great spot for large groups and families too. You could all book spots next to each other.

We loved waking up and cooking breakfast right at our cabin, going for a dip in the river, a walk and then relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sunset. North Carolina is definitely one of our favorite spots to visit. We just love the family friendly, small town feel along with the appeal of the mountains, the hiking, the swimming and the views. We will definitely be adding Asheville River Cabins onto our list again. If you love the outdoors and love staying right in the heart of nature in a cozy cabin, this is just the stay for you. Have you been to Asheville yet? Are you a fan of tiny cabins?
