Everything You’ve Wanted to Know about Camping in an Airstream with Autocamp Yosemite

Last month Matt and I took a road trip to Autocamp Yosemite, and it was every bit as magical as we imagined. This was our third Autocamp boutique hotel location that we have visited, and it didn’t disappoint one bit. If you and your family love disconnecting from the busy fast pace of everyday life and connecting with each other and nature, you will love camping with Autocamp. Autocamp locations are in some of the prettiest spots in the US, and their locations are comprised of several airstreams, cabins and tents. Each location is a little different, but you can expect them to have a clubhouse, hammocks, fire pits, games, activities and events and more. Some even have a pool or hot tub. The Yosemite location had a pool on site, and it was such a treat! keep reading for more details about camping with Autocamp.

This Autocamp is located about 30 minutes outside of the Yosemite National Park entrance which is so convenient. At certain times of the year, you have to have a park reservation, so check their website here to see if you need one. You might also want to check your route to the hotel, because you might have to drive through the park to get to Autocamp. That is what we had to do, and honestly I loved it. It was nice to get a little preview of the park a day early so we could plan out our national park stops for the following two day.

This entire Autocamp location is so laid back and family friendly. The location is pretty large, and there is plenty of room at Autocamp. The property is nestled in the trees, and there is a pond and walking trail too. I love how well they really combine modern camping with all the conveniences and nature. They even have an outdoor area right outside the clubhouse where they do yoga. They also have other nightly events like live music and even rock painting. There is something that you and your kids will love going on everyday! At the clubhouse, they firepits, hammocks, swings, picnic tables, games and more.

We stayed in a Premium airstream suite which was just enough room and had all the modern conveniences we love. They had a kettle for making coffee, a mini fridge and microwave, silverware, plates, cups and cast iron pans for cooking. The airsteam had a queen sized bed and a sofa bed in the living room. There was a nice bathroom with an open stand-up shower. They have heating and air conditioning which worked amazingly! The water pressure was great too, and honestly the conveniences were a lot better than even some hotels we have stayed in! We loved waking up at Autocamp, having coffee by our fire pit by the airsteam, going to the clubhouse to grab dinner and relaxing on the hammock. Then we spent all day hiking at Yosemite. We came back and booked dinner on our fire pit, grabbed a drink from the clubhouse and then went for a dip in the pool and a nightly walk on the trail while picking and eating fresh blueberries. We absolutely loved camping in the airstream and being so close to nature each morning when we woke up. It was so peaceful, relaxing and comfortable.

If you’ve been looking to unplug with your loved ones, I 100% recommend Autocamp. This is the third location we have visited with Autocamp, and next year we will cross off location number four off our list. We absolutely love staying in an airstream. It really is the best of both worlds. We wake up and are immediately entrenched in nature. We grew up camping, and I didn’t realize until a few years ago just how much we have missed camping. But staying with Autocamp gives us the freedom to not own a camper, and we can just visit one of their 11 locations to explore more the world while style reconnecting with our family and the outdoors. Autocamp was just perfect for us on our adventure! If you are a fan of camping or think you might like glamping, I 100% recommend trying out some of the Autocamp locations. Have you stayed with Autocamp before?
