Trend Spin Linkup – What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite reasons to dress up a little, even when we’re celebrating at home. Between catching up with family, gathering around the table and going back for dessert, I want an outfit that is comfortable and still special enough for the occasion. This navy knit top and green-and-navy plaid skirt from VICI make such a sweet pairing for a fall gathering. The rich colors and classic plaid are perfect for the season without being limited to one holiday.

A Pretty Plaid Outfit for Thanksgiving

I paired this short-sleeve navy knit top with a pleated plaid mini skirt for a look that is feminine and a little preppy. The simple top lets the plaid stand out, while the skirt’s pleats and buckle detail add just enough interest. I love how the navy brings the two pieces together, and the deep green adds a beautiful touch of fall color.

How to Style It for Your Thanksgiving Plans

I finished the outfit with black pointed-toe heels to dress it up for dinner. For a more casual celebration, I would swap the heels for loafers or ballet flats. If the weather is cooler, tights and tall boots would be a pretty option, along with a cardigan or tailored coat. It is an easy look to adjust depending on whether you’re hosting at home or heading out to celebrate with family.

Wear It Again After Thanksgiving

These are also pieces I would reach for throughout fall and winter. The navy knit top would be so pretty with jeans or tailored trousers, and the plaid skirt would pair beautifully with a cream sweater for a holiday gathering. I love finding outfits that make a special day a little sweeter and give me plenty of ways to wear them again.
