You may have noticed that I have not worn a single pair of knee boots on this blog in a year.  Believe me, it’s not because I haven’t wanted to!  It’s because I have been searching high and low for the perfect pair and wasn’t having any luck.  I had very specific criteria.  I wanted them to be black and brown.  I wanted them to be flat, riding boots with some type of nice hardware detail on the side and they had to be real leather.  And the most important requirement is that they must fit over my big calves!  That is usually the hardest feat.  I have big calves and can rarely pull boots on and off over them.  My year long search finally ended when I found this gorgeous pair from Ariat.  In case you haven’t heard of Ariat before, they are an American footwear brand with an equestrian heritage that you can easily see in their high quality designs.

The first thing I loved about these boots is that they were the exact design I had been searching for.  I wanted them to be brown and black so I could wear them with lots of outfits, plus brown and black is one of my favorite combos.  My hardest decision was whether to get the black with brown at the top or the brown with black at the top.  I think I made the perfect decision though.  These boots zip up the side, so they fit perfectly over my calves, and I can get them on and off in seconds without any tugging.  And that is saying a lot for me!  And the quality of the leather – amazing!  I think these boots will last for years to come, and they match practically everything.  Not only do they go perfectly with leggings and a vest, I can see them with skinnies and plaid and even with a beautiful sweater dress.  There are so many ways to wear them.  Do you have a hard time finding your perfect pair of boots too?  Have you checked out Ariat yet and found your dream pair of boots?
