I just had to throw this cute picture in of Spike and Lola. My friend Jennifer took it this weekend.

Hope you are having a great week!  Shane and I went over to his mom’s house last night to swim, but the water was freezing.  He braved it, but I didn’t.  Then as we were getting ready to leave, the electricity in all the neighborhood went off.  It was pitch black, and stayed that way for about 4 hours. I tried to go to bed with no air conditioning or noise, but Shane thought that a power outage meant it was a great time to ride the golf cart around the neighborhood.  Thank goodness ours has lights.  His mom got a golf cart on Monday, so she joined in on the fun too.  Yes, we’re from the south, but it sure did sound fun.  I woke up to AC and lights.  Thank goodness, it came back on in the middle of the night though because I only had 1% battery left.  As my friend said last night, what did we do before electricity…or iPhones?

Thanks for stopping by for the first Day to Night Series.  I will pick a different item each month, and one person will style it more casually for day and the other will dress it up for night.  If you’re interested in participating, you can email me here.  Amanda from The Sequined Spaniel wore her skirt more casual with a boyfriend blazer and wedges, while I wore it with my hair up, a silk blouse and heels.  What I like most about this skirt is how versatile it is.  At first, I thought it was really too preppy for my usual style, but you can really style it so many ways to make it fit for your style.  I’ll probably wear it with a casual tee and sandals a lot too.  And as a bonus, it’s long enough to wear for work.  I like items that work double duty.  How would you wear this skirt?  Make sure you stop by The Sequined Spaniel to see how see styled it.  Don’t forget to enter the giveaways here, here and here.  And you can still link up your mint trend here.
Today I’m linking up with Lindsey, ShannaAlisonAmy and Victoria.

  1. I just bought that skirt in pink!! I love how you paired yours with a neon top and those fab earrings. Amanda did great too, and honestly, I could see wearing her outfit to the office or on a date night! I'm excited to see more of these link ups!

  2. Have this skirt as well and I love it! I adore how you paired it with neon! BTW I have been eyeing those Ava sunnies from Anthro for awhile as a save to the Karen Walkers and I think your post just inspired me to buy them!
