Happy Friday loves!  I am back today to show you one last post on Easter dresses for women.  I am teaming up again with my friend Collins’ Closets to show off 2 dress ideas for Easter from Draper James.  When I think of Easter, I cannot help but think of pretty blooms, so we knew immediately the Dixon Gallery & Gardens would be perfect for these pictures, and of course I have to wear floral prints.  I’ve already showed you a casual Easter look here and a really dressy one here, so today I wanted to show you an option that was still dressy enough for church and Easter pictures, but not too dressy where you don’t feel comfortable (when chasing your child) or feel like yourself.  This pretty shirtdress has just the perfect shape and print to it and is so flattering in my opinion.  Draper James also has some of the best dress options, and they are just perfect for a Southern Easter.
I paired my pretty dress with these new wedges.  If you don’t have these wedges yet, you are missing out.  They are under $60, and I love the pretty taupe color.  They go with everything!  You will definitely be seeing me rock wedges a lot this spring and summer.  If you want to hear more about me and Collins and our favorite Easter moments, make sure you check out our interview over on the Draper James’ blog.  And don’t forget to stop by Collins’ Closets to see her pretty outfit details.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  We have 2 Easter egg hunts tomorrow with Leighton, and I can’t wait!

  1. Honey,

I loved your dress. Green looks so good on you!

As for the Easter traditions, I enjoyed knowing about your family. Here at home, we are Catholics, and we live intensely Holy Week.

Already on Holy Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, we pray special prayers and begin to prepare the holiday season and to explain more clearly to children the meaning of the coming celebrations. On Maundy Thursday morning, very early, before sunrise, my husband and I go to the altar of our house and recite, in Latin, slowly, the Tenebrae. Same thing on Good Friday and Holy Saturday mornings.

In this wek, we put a carrot tied in a string in one of the kitchen windows, and we are "gnawing" the pieces so that the children think that the "Easter Bunny" is nearby to bring the chocolate eggs.

Maundy Thursday night is time to go to the Mass of the Lord's Supper and we turn off the music, TV, internet, except for religious reasons and accompany prayer programs and the Vatican transmisions. Always with family.

Good Friday, fasting, abstinence from the flesh, recollection, prayer, Via Crucis with the children, church visit for the Celebration of the Passion of the Lord, and silence in the afternoon. The silence continues on Holy Saturday, until in the evening we go to church for the Solemn Easter Vigil of the Lord's Resurrection. Children come back tiredly straight to bed.

While they sleep, I prepare the Easter eggs and many chocolates in a specially decorated basket and place them, with three fingers of my hand full of wheat flour, drawings of rabbit footprints around the house, so that the children, when they wake up Easter Sunday, get enthusiastic and participate in the rabbit hunt. Anyway, everyone happy with chocolates and eggs, we pray and go to Mass again, and then my husband prepares a delicious and traditional rural and gaucho lamb barbecue.

    So, it is.

Happy Easter, my dear friend, and God bless you so much!
