Our Favorite Glamping Places in the South
We love to travel, and we love to camp. But throw in a little glamping, and we especially love that! It is the best of both worlds! This summer we already have a couple glamping trips plans, and we cannot wait! I think the kids are going to absolutely love it. If you’ve been wanting to get into camping, glamping is a great way to get your feet wet. I’m rounding up my top 5 favorite cities in the South to go glamping, so keep reading.
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Under Canvas – The Smoky Mountains are gorgeous, and there is nothing more magical than glamping outside to see the beautiful landscape and mountains. We visited here in 2020, and they were beautiful luxe tents that had everything you needed. They’re in a great location too with such peaceful and pretty views. Trust me, this place is dreamy! And they have several locations in other spots too.
Branson, Missouri
Camp Long Creek – Branson is another one of our favorite spots in the mountains, and Camp Long Creek is a great way to try out camping. They are part of Big Cedar Lodge which has tons of accomodations from hotel rooms to cabins to both big and small. And Camp Long Creek has luxe tents to stay in that have incredible tubs, a shower, a king sized bed, heating and cooling and a fire pit and chairs outside. It doesn’t get any cooler than this ! It would be perfect for a couple’s trip or a family trip.
Asheville, North Carolina
Autocamp – We vistied Autocamp for the first time last summer at their Cape Cod location, and it was amazing! Their Asheville location opens this spring, and we cannot wait to visit there soon. They have modernized, luxury Airstreams and cabins. They even have upgraded airstreams that have a hot tub outside. The bathrooms have been redone, and the kitchen is super nice too. We were SO impressed with our stay here last summer that we are staying with Autocamp twice this summer. Cannot wait! It’s a great option for people who love staying in campers, but it’s definitely elevated! They also have tons of other locations!
The Glamping Collective – If you have been wanting to try out the glass domes, this one is for you! This place is incredible! It is located in Asheville also, and we will be visiting there for the first time this summer too. We are excited to cross Asheville off our list and to try out a dome. It has incredible views, a hot tub and tons of large glass windows and lots of room inside. It is perfect for a family trip or couple’s trip too!
Fredericksburg, Texas
Onera – I visited Onera in Fredericksburg in 2022, and it was incredible. They have so many different options from cabins to domes and more…and they’re still expanding! They even have a shipping container pool on site too. Plus, they are all set in a peaceful spot nestled in trees and have such pretty views. You will definitely feel like you are part of the outdoors when you stay here. Their rooms have everything you need, and this is definitely luxury glamping!
Jekyll Island, Georgia
Little Raccoon Key – Glamping in a luxury tent on a private island?? Yes please! Y’all know we love Jekyll Island, and next time we go back, we are definitely going to check out Little Raccoon Key. There are so many things you can do here like go fishing, get massages and even have a private chef. Talk about a luxury camping trip! And at Little Raccoon Key, you will be on a private island. If you’re looking for a private trip away from everything and everyone, this is it!
