Mother’s Day is coming up, and I want to share a fun idea to celebrate it with some of your mom friends and family. When is the last time you hosted a Mother’s Day brunch? I never had, and I decided this year it was time! I wanted to keep it simple, and I also knew I wanted to have it outdoors. I started by picking out the menu. A peach proscuitto butter board, bread and wine. I thought it would be just perfect with some easy but pretty finger foods and some chilled wine to pair with it. Keep reading to see how to plan the perfect Mother’s Day brunch.
After I picked out the menu, I started selecting some of my favorite pieces to serve everything. Y’all know I am obsessed with MacKenzie Childs, so I grabbed my favorite items like this footed bowl, flower buckets, herb pots and plates. I used the footed bowl to hold the bread. The flower buckets were a fun touch to hold hydrangeas for each guest to take home with them. I used the herb pots as cute little place settings to hold more flowers. I added a coordinating paper towel holder and a picture frame for a sweet touch to really finish up the tablescape.
After I decided which items to add, I pulled my favorite table, chairs and bench out to the yard to set up my tablescape. I added my tablecoth and started to set the table for our fun little spread. I used pitchers to add some more pretty floral arrangements. And I also used canisters as ice buckets to hold the bottles of wine. I think it turned out so pretty, and I loved all the sweet, personalized touches like flowers at each place settings, florals to take home, and the picture frame of my family. Depending on who you’re inviting, you could add a picture of you all or even of each guest’s family. I think that would be a great touch.
And now the yummy part, the butter board! Y’all this butter board turned out amazing! And it wasn’t even hard to make! But it looks so good, and it tastes so good. It only required a handful of ingredients too. Just grab your favorite wooden board, bread, butter, chutney, fruit, meat and seasonings. You will easily impress your guests, and I promise it really does look much fancier than it really is. Then it’s time to pick out your wine or champagne. We went with 2 different wines because I thought they would pair so well with the butter board and bread, but depending on your menu you could make so many great drinks. Even a peach tea would be wonderful!
I love how everything turned out! It looked so pretty and tasted so good. And it was so nice to catch up. If you’ve been wanting an opportunity to get together with friends or family, this is the perfect occasion to do so. Let me know if you end up hosting a brunch and what you add to the menu. And happy early Mother’s Day!
