Yesterday Leighton turned 10! A couple weekends ago we celebrated her turning 10 at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Germantown, TN. She has such an amazing time! We haven’t thrown a party for her in a few years (we celebrated with trips.) Since she will be in the double digits, we just knew we had to do something special this year. Kids these days do not get enough social time at school. Between homework, sports and family time, there isn’t much time to just relax with friends. And this party was just what she needed!
We love Blo Blow Dry Bar, and Leighton has been there with me several different times. She is at that age where she loves getting her hair and makeup done, and I knew this would be such a fun and special way to celebrate her birthday with a few of her closest friends. We decided we wanted to have time to do makeup too, so we decided to have Blo do dry hairstyles. Everyone was instructed to wash their hair in advance, and Blo styled everyone’s hair at the party. They can do updos, braids, tinsel, curls and so much more! That left plenty of time for each girl to also get their makeup done. I knew the girls would enjoy the entire package! = )
Everyone dressed up and wore their favorite party dress or skirt, and it was so fun to get all dressed up and have hair and makeup done. After hair and makeup, we enjoyed a huge spread from Graz’n Tables. They made a charcuterie board with ham and turkey brioche sliders, fruit and dip, veggies and hummus, steak bites, jams, crackers, nuts, popcorn and cookies. It was perfect, and there was something for everyone! We had a gluten allergy and a nut allergy, and they separated out those items in advance to accommodate those allergies which we really appreciated!
We ordered an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins, and it was SO good! We did half chocolate and half vanilla, and it is one of Leighton’s favorite cakes she has gotten the last couple years. It’s always such a crowd pleaser, and as a bonus, it’s gluten free. Aside from the cake, the charcuterie board and drinks, Blo handled the other parts of the party from plates to cuts to napkins to silverware. They made sure every detail was thought of, and it was so convenient and easy!
Ballooned and Knotted handled our balloon arch for the party, and they hand picked the prettiest balloon colors in pastel. From there, Blo coordinated colors for their items, and Baskin Robbins coordinated with the cake. It all came together so perfectly. I still cannot believe Leighton is in double digits now! It’s been a quick 10 years, and she is one of the kindest, most helpful, creative and organized people I know with such a big heart. She loves her little siblings and is the best big sister too. We love you Leighton. Happy 10th birthday!
