This Saturday marks 4 months (78 classes) of going to Pure Barre Collierville, and I honestly cannot believe it! It has seriously flown by. I can honestly say before my first class that I wasn’t sure if there would be a second class. But after my first class, I knew there would be. Truth be told, it was TOUGH. So tough, and I didn’t want to go back. But that’s when I knew I HAD to go back. The only way for it not to be tough would be to get better. To get stronger. I knew that I had to work at it to get better. The more classes I took, I knew it would get easier.
The first couple weeks were really hard. I kept having to take breaks. I had to modify most of the movements. And honestly I still have to take some breaks even 4 months later. The choreography changes every couple months, so you’re constantly trying new moves and being challenged. And that keeps me on my toes. Just when I finally memorize the choreography and think wow, this is getting a lot easier, they switch it up! And I’m so glad you do. That’s how you know you’re in a growth mindset. You want to be challenged. You want to learn, grow and improve. You know that you don’t quit because something is hard, you just work harder at it. You practice.

There are several different instructors at Pure Barre Collierville, and everyone teaches just a little differently. There are also 4 different class styles – Classic, Define, Empower and Align. That means you are constantly challenging your muscles and your body. I love that there are classes that are more strength straining, core work, cardio and even more yoga. There truly is something for everyone! They offer classes 7 days a week at various times – morning, lunch and afternoon, so you can always find something that fits into your schedule. And they’re only 50 minutes. Just 50 minutes to yourself that you will never regret. They even have classes that you can join online, perfect for when you’re traveling! Above are pictures of me in Belize doing the online Pure Barre classes. They were great to still get in a good burn while gone!
I typically go right after I drop the kids off at school. I put on my workout clothes the morning I wake up. Don’t give yourself a chance to change your mind. It feels so good doing something for my mind and body each day that I know is going to make me look and feel better and stronger. After just 4 months, I already notice so many differences. There is more muscle definition in my biceps, triceps and traps. My glutes, quads and hamstrings are growing. And I have less stomach pooch. And that’s only what you see. I’ve never had stronger abs and obliques, and I even see some definition in them beneath the excess skin from pregnancies. I’m seeing and feeling changes that I never thought I would, especially since lifting weights for 1.5 years straight now.

I thought I had seen all the differences I would see and there was no way that Pure Barre would make a difference or be a challenge for me. I was wrong! It is all about the small movements that really lift, tone and burn your entire body, but especially your core, legs and seat. That is where I definitely see and feel the biggest changes. I posted a collage above hoping that you can notice some of the changes I mentioned above. I know that I can! The new pictures are at the top of the collage – peep that booty, legs and arms. = )
