10 Places to Go Glamping for a Weekend Getaway within Driving Distance of Memphis, Tennessee

Looking for the best places to go glamping this spring and summer? Here are my top recommendations in the south!

Our Favorite Glamping Places in the South

We love to travel, and we love to camp. But throw in a little glamping, and we especially love that! It is the best of both worlds! This summer we already have a couple glamping trips plans, and we cannot wait! I think the kids are going to absolutely love it. If you’ve been wanting to get into camping, glamping is a great way to get your feet wet. And what I love is that it’s great for families, couples trips or even for girls trips. I’m rounding up my top 10 favorite cities in the South to go glamping, so keep reading.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Under Canvas – The Smoky Mountains are gorgeous, and there is nothing more magical than glamping outside to see the beautiful landscape and mountains. We visited here in 2020, and they were beautiful luxe tents that had everything you needed. They’re in a great location too with such peaceful and pretty views. Trust me, this place is dreamy! And they have several locations in other spots too. Their tents are beautiful and sleep up to 2 people in each tent.

Ridgedale, Missouri

Camp Long Creek – Branson is another one of our favorite spots in the mountains, and Camp Long Creek is a great way to try out camping. They are part of Big Cedar Lodge which has tons of accomodations from hotel rooms to cabins to both big and small. And Camp Long Creek has luxe tents to stay in that have incredible tubs, a shower, wood floors, a chandelier, a king sized bed, heating and cooling and a fire pit and chairs outside. It doesn’t get any cooler than this ! It would be perfect for a couple’s trip or a family trip.

Asheville, North Carolina

Autocamp – We vistied Autocamp for the first time a couple years ago at their Cape Cod location, and it was amazing! Now we have added their Sonoma and Yosemite locations to our list of visited also. Their Asheville location opens this spring, and we cannot wait to visit there this summer! They have modernized, luxury Airstreams and cabins. They even have upgraded airstreams that have a hot tub outside. The bathrooms have been redone, and the kitchen is super nice too. It’s a great option for people who love staying in campers, but it’s definitely elevated! They also have tons of other locations. Perfect for families, couples or girls trips.

Fredericksburg, Texas

Onera – I visited Onera in Fredericksburg in 2022, and it was incredible. They have so many different options from cabins to domes and more…and they’re still expanding! They even have a shipping container pool on site too. Plus, they are all set in a peaceful spot nestled in trees and have such pretty views. You will definitely feel like you are part of the outdoors when you stay here. Their rooms have everything you need, and this is definitely luxury glamping!

Monteagle, Tennessee

Terralodge – Located about 45 minutes outside of Chattanooga, this is a great spot to go glamping! Terralodge has accommodations from domes to large cabins to even small Scandanavian cabins. We stayed there last spring and had a great time. Each space has a hot tub and porch that is surrounded by nature. It was very quite and peaceful here, and I love that it’s only a 4 hour drive from Memphis.

Ringold, Georgia

Selah Ridge Resort – Probably the most unique and memorable stay I’ve ever had, we visited a couple years ago. We stayed in the Shiloh seen below, but they also have the Tower and the Treehouse. Each accommodation is completely unique, and honestly I recommend trying them all out! Nestled in the woods, they are all very private and secluded. The Shiloh reminded me of a hobbit house from the look of it. It had grass on the roof and a path that leads you to walk up onto the roof. There is a hot tub and pool and outdoor shower and a Blackstone outside to cook on. The primary bedroom has a huge circular window to bring in the sunshine in the morning. There is even a hidden room with bunk beds. It would be great for a couples or family trip.

Scottsboro, Alabama

Retreet Resort & Spa – They have treehouses, tents, cottages and cabins. They are nestled in the woods in beautiful Alabama. They would be great for small families or couples. Most are one bedrooms, but they have a few cabins that have a second bedroom with a bunkbed.

Clyde, North Carolina

The Glamping Collective – If you have been wanting to try out the glass domes, this one is for you! This place is incredible! It is located in Asheville also, and we will be visiting there for the first time this summer too. We are excited to cross Asheville off our list and to try out a dome. It has incredible views, a hot tub and tons of large glass windows and lots of room inside. It is perfect for a family trip or couple’s trip too!

Brownsville, Tennessee

Serendipity Resort – Located the closest to Memphis, you can easily go for a quick weekend trip. They have cottages, cabins and even yurts. It is super family friendly here. They have a waterpark and several other activities to do here like disc golf, horseshoes, swimming in the pool, fishing and more.

Smithville, Tennessee

Center Hill Lake Glamping Domes – They have 2 different domes that overlook the lake and come with a deck with private hot tub. They both have 1 bedroom with a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Great for couples!

Have you been glamping before? Which would be your favorite place to go glamping at?
