My First Baby Shower

Garland c/o

I finally had my first baby shower over the weekend!!  My sister-in-law threw it for me, and everything was so beautiful!  She lives right across the street, so it was also nice and convenient for Shane to pop by, say hello and tote the gifts back home.  I don’t know who was more excited about the shower – me or him.  He has been a nervous wreck with barely over 6 more weeks to go and still hardly anything we need for the baby.  = )  I keep trying to tell him that we will be ready when she gets here though (or at least as ready as we will ever be!)  I think you figure it out, and it all just works out.

When the sweet people at Beau-coup found out I was about to have my first baby shower, they sent me some of the prettiest decorations including pom poms, confetti balloons, striped paper straws, garland and these adorable little bird cookies for party favors.  Lindsey did such a great job of decorating, and I love how everything turned out.  Leighton’s room is decorated in aqua, yellow and coral so Lindsey used the same color scheme for the shower.  We ordered the pom poms, confetti balloons and straws in blue.  For the cookies, we went with blue, yellow and pink.  The color of the garland was probably the hardest decision I made.  It comes in so, so many gorgeous and girly colors!  I ended up going with coralline, and I am so happy because it even matches Leighton’s room.  I look forward to finding just the perfect spot to hang it in her room.  Any ideas??  Her room still has a long way to go, but I will be sharing a nursery reveal in about a month.  If you are planning a baby shower or any type of party for that matter, make sure you check out Beau-coupSwoozie’s sister store.  They have some of the cutest decorations!

This shower was for my family and friends, and a few of Shane’s family members were there too.  It was just so much fun.  I felt a little rusty opening gifts with everyone watching; it felt like our wedding shower almost 8 years ago lol.  I also opened a gift and proudly announced to everyone that it was my first gift of diapers, only to be told that it was actually a box of wipes.  They’re both Pampers – close enough.  = )  This has definitely been a learning process for me, and I joked that everyone would have to tell me what everything was supposed to be used for.  We ended up getting a lot of necessities, and we also got a few larger items that we were really excited about.  Some of my favorite gifts w received were the dresser, rocker and kick & play piano gym.  Once the rocker is delivered and put together and the dresser is assembled too, I think her room will finally start looking like a real room.  = )

  1. Lol, it was a lot of fun too! And I love that I will always remember giving you her first pack of "diapers" haha! You got a lot of great books too. I can't wait to see how the shelves turn out in her room. It's going to be perfect 🙂
