I hope eveyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to spend it with friends and family.  On Thursday we ate with my family for lunch and Shane’s family for dinner.  For my first time ever, I did some Thanksgiving night shopping with my mom.  Shane was at home sick, so it was the perfect time to get out of the house and give him some quiet time.  We went to Ann Taylor, Gap, Macy’s, Banana Republic and then Bath & Body Works.  We started at 8:00 and were done by midnight.  It was perfect; we didn’t have to wait in line hardly at all to checkout, and we got up close parking spots.  I guess everyone must have been at Walmart because there weren’t many people at the Collierville mall.  Friday night we had suite seats to see John Mayer, so we took 2 of our good friends with us too.  I was so pleasantly surprised.  I have never really been a big John Mayer fan, but he put on a good show live.  I think my favorite was listening to him during the guitar solos, and I also loved hearing the organ.
The weekend before Thanksgiving was mine and Shane’s 9 year anniversary.  We celebrated by going to one of my favorite restaurants, Paulette’s.  The restaurant moved to our neighborhood a few years ago, so its just half a mile down the road from our house.  It was already decorated for Christmas, and they had a piano player in the lobby.  And in case that wasn’t enough, it also happened to be Downtown Dining Week.  We each got a 3 course meal for $20.13.  Each year a number of downtown Memphis restaurants participate.  They create a special menu, and their 4 course meals are all the price of the year.  It’s a good way to try a restaurant that might normally be a little too pricey for a much cheaper price.  We both started with the mushroom bisque, and it was amazing!  If you love mushrooms, you will love this.  I got the beef bourguignon for my main course, and Shane got the crab stuffed sole.  I finished with an apple strudel, and Shane had a kahlua mocha parfait.  His tasted like coffee flavored ice cream, and it was so good!  My apple strudel was pretty good too!  I love anything with apple in it.  Sorry, Shane has been sick, so I couldn’t convince him to be in a picture.  = (
For our date I wanted to wear something comfortable but still dressy.  I wore my green lace skirt with my new grid print sweater and my cap toe pumps from Marshalls.  It was in the 20s, so it was the perfect time to try out my new leather sleeved blazer from Marshalls.  Make sure you check out your local Marshalls as they always have such amazing designer pieces at even better prices!  They are the perfect place to shop to stock up on your date night pieces.  As a matter of fact, Marshalls is the perfect place to shop for any occassion!  Where do you shop to find great date night pieces?

  1. Such a cute sweater! Love it. And Happy Anniversary! I have only been to Paulette's once, but it was so good. May have to head down there next time I am home!
