Today I am talking about all things Memphis, and first I wanted to share some of my favorite outfit posts taken in some iconic Memphis spots over the last couple of years. From East Memphis all the way west almost into Arkansas, we’ve taken photos almost everywhere in Memphis.  Shane and I now live about 30 miles north of Memphis, but it still holds such a special place in our hearts.  Midtown is where Shane proposed to me, and we got married in Midtown too. We had our reception in downtown Memphis overlooking the river.  We lived in Harbor Town the last couple of years, and we even got pregnant with Leighton when we lived there.  I’ve lived near Memphis my entire life, and it’s no secret that I love my city.  We have so many great things to offer – unique fashion, the Grizzlies, a wonderful zoo, good home cooked food, one of the largest and nicest parks, Shelby Farms, and of course great music!  When someone mentions Memphis, it is usually followed by mentioning barbecue and Elvis.  = )  These are definitely 2 of my favorites, but we also have many other great foods and great music to offer.
The Black Cadillacs, a band from East Tennessee, recently found inspiration for their last song on their new album right here in Memphis.  Last Song to Memphis really talks about our history, music landmarks, food and culture.  Memphis is one of those places that just sticks with you.  If you’ve ever been, you can’t help but leave with a newfound appreciation of our city.  Maybe you leave a little more soulful, with a new love of barbecue, or maybe you even buy your first pair of blue suede shoes, but Memphis shapes who we are.  If you haven’t heard their new song yet, you can download it here for free.  You can also watch the full video here which documents the Black Cadillacs road trip to Memphis where they wrote the song.  What do you think of when you think of Memphis?  What do you love most about your city?

  1. I was in Memphis for work this week (the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid) and can't tell you how I disappointed I was to not even eat barbecue! I will definitely be returning.
