Style Resolutions

Happy Monday!  I’m on my way to New Orleans as we speak.  As I was packing for this trip, I realized my closet needs a little TLC.  I’ve got some great statement pieces, but I am somehow lacking on basics like tees, dress pants, pencil skirts, shift dresses.  For 2016, I am making a style resolution to do a better job of stocking up on basics that I can easily pair with my statement pieces, like this gorgeous INC International Concepts faux fur vest from thredUP.  I realized I have so many colored pieces, printed pieces, but not many solids that I can easily throw on and pair with a beautiful vest like this.  So for 2016, I am going to build my “basics closet” and focus on adding in nice statement pieces that I know I can get a lot of wear out of.  Luckily, thredUP will help me do just that.  If you haven’t heard of thredUP, they are the largest online consignment and thrift store.  I got this beautiful faux fur vest for $17.88.  I know, I couldn’t believe it either.  It looks so luxurious and expensive, and it cost the same as 3 or 4 days worth of coffee from Starbucks.  I also scored some beautiful silver J.Crew sandals and even a few things for Leighton.  I think thredUP is especially perfect for baby clothes.  They have a great selection, and it’s perfect so you don’t spend a ton of money that you know they will only wear once or twice before they outgrow.  Have you tried thredUP?  What’s your style resolution for 2016?
