My First Stitch Fix

I am so, so excited to share Stitch Fix with yall today!  I have been debating on trying it for SO long, but I kept talking myself out of it because I have such a difficult body type to style.  Short torso, normal legs, overall short, broad shoulders, large chest.  You name it, I feel like I’ve got it.  When I created my style profile though, there was actually a box at the very bottom to list anything I wanted my stylist to know, so I listed all that info there.  Stitch Fix is a monthly subscription box that is delivered to your door with 5 pieces in it.  And guess what?!  They carry shoes now too.  It is only $20 for your box.  If you like something, just keep it.  If you don’t, just send it back.  A price list comes in the box that lists every piece and price in case you want to keep something.  And if you do keep something?  The $20 styling fee you paid goes towards that.  How awesome is that?!
I just received my first box this past month and was very pleasantly surprised.  In my first Stitch Fix, I got a pair of distressed frayed skinnies, a floral blouse, a yellow cardigan, a striped dress and a pair of animal print gladiator sandals.  I about died over the sandals when I saw them.  Needless to say, I absolutely kept them.  No questions asked.  These shoes will go with everything.  Such a great neutral, and I think they will look just as perfect with a striped dress like the one that came in my box as they do with the outfit I styled them with today.  It just so happened that most all of my pieces could actually be styled together.  I love the floral blouse because it would be perfect for work or going out.  I am not usually a big cardigan wearer, but I liked how soft, flowy and lightweight this one was.  And the jeans fit like a dream.  They were the perfect ankle length for me.  They had some really cute fraying at the bottom, but I like the way they look rolled up instead so you can see the sandals better.  The only piece that completely wasn’t me was the dress.  It had really short sleeves and was pretty form fitting.  Aside from that, I would happily wear any of the pieces in the box.
One of my favorite things about the Stitch Fix box is that it comes with a card that shows you 2 different ways to style each piece.  I think it is great to help make sure you maximize your pieces and see how much wear you can really get out of them.  I’m so happy to be on the Stichfix bandwagon (finally!), and I’ve already received my second box.  I am definitely keeping 1 piece in my second box, and I’m still debating between 3 more pieces so far.  Make sure you check out Sandy a La Mode, Lipgloss & Crayons and Chasing Davies to see what came in their boxes too!  Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?

P.S.  I’ve already mentioned here how Stitch Fix is the perfect Mother’s Day gift, and right now they’re celebrating the most important woman in your life.  Whether she’s your mom, aunt, sister teacher or best friend, she supports you through life’s successes and setbacks with unconditional love.  Tell Stitch Fix about her and how she’s positively influenced you for a chance to win a trip to San Francisco, a styling session (you get to keep the clothes!) and a photoshoot at the Stitch Fix headquarters.  To enter, just click here to enter to enter your first name, last initial and email address.  Submit your story about that special woman in your life.  Then share you entry on Facebook and Twitter, encouraging friends and family to vote for you.  The more votes you get, the better chance you will have of getting picked.  Good luck!
