Live at the Garden Concert Series at the Botanic Garden & Yarnell’s Ice Cream – What to Do in Memphis

Every summer I look forward to going to the Memphis Botanic Garden.  They have a Live at the Garden Concert Series where everyone can either buy lawn tickets and bring their own chairs, tables, coolers, drinks, food or they can buy them there at the event.  You can even buy a table if sitting in a camping chair doesn’t sound like your cup of tea for the night.  Some people go all out and bring candles, wine and cheese, and I’ve even seen people bring a tablecloth for their table.  It is such a fun event to go to each year.  When they announced the lineup back in April, I was so excited to hear some bands I love like Heart, Sheryl Crow, Gregg Allman, Billy Currington and REO Speedwagon.  They always have a great variety so you’re sure to love at least a couple of the performers.  You will find people there of all ages.  It is a great even to bring the whole family to also.
Last weekend, the band was Heart.  Shane LOVES Heart.  We actually saw them in concert about 5 years ago.  When the lineup was announced on Shane’s birthday this year, I knew it was the perfect way to celebrate his birthday so we had to go.  This year Yarnell’s Ice Cream was the advertising sponsor for the concert series.  Yarnell’s is a tradition here in the South.  They are from Arkansas, and if you live anywhere around Arkansas or the surrounding states, you have for sure heard of and tasted Yarnell’s Ice Cream.
Shane, my sister, her husband and I sat at one of the tables at the first concert this year.  We had such a great view of the stage and the screens.  Plus the table seat included food and drinks for the night.  And of course we just had to have some ice cream.  The weather was perfect as it wasn’t too hot or humid for the summer yet, and the Botanic Garden is just gorgeous.  We had such a great time, and I can’t wait to go back to the next one.  If you’re in the Memphis area, make sure you stop by the Botanic Garden for the Live at the Concert Series and Yarnell’s.
