As most of you know, I travel to Dallas at least a few times each year for work.  I LOVE Dallas.  The hotels, the food, the shopping, the friends.  It is definitely one of my favorite cities to visit.  I was in town for work a couple weeks ago and had a few free hours to visit a few of my favorite places, so I thought I would share my top places in Dallas that visited when I was short on time in Dallas.  If you have any favorites too, make sure to leave them in the comments below.  I would love to check them out next time!
Hotel:  The Stoneleigh.  This hotel is so gorgeous y’all.  It has such great art deco style with modern amenities.  When you walk into the lobby, there are even bicycles that you can take for a spin.  That pretty much sold me on the hotel!  They also have a really nice bar (with excellent food I must add!)  We had a fun little happy hour event there my first night in town for a couple hours, and all the food was so good!  And the chef even left a special little treat in my room that same night too.  It was SO good!  Everyone there was so friendly, welcoming and helpful.  The hotel rooms are huge, and the bathroom is even more spacious.  I really wish I would have had more than just one night here.  And my room was lined with plenty of large windows to let in some great natural light during the daytime.  I will definitely be staying there again when I’m in Dallas!
Food:  Del Frisco’s.  This is my second time to go by Del Frisco’s, and it is even better every time.  I hadn’t been in a few years, so I was excited to visit again while I was in town.  Every time I have a free night for dinner while in Dallas, I always try to add this place to the list.  This is one of the few restaurants where I actually order my steak rare.  It is that good!  The serving sizes are generous, and the sides and appetizers are some of my favorites.  We started with raw oysters  and calamari.  And of course I had to get the filet for my entrĆ©e.  Yum, I wish I was back there right now!
Transportation:  Volvo.   This was my first time driving a Volvo, and I have to say it was quite a treat.  The SUV drove so smoothly and was perfect for Dallas traffic.  The backup cameras, the indicators letting me know when something was beside me and even warnings when I’m near the line (not that that happened.ā˜ŗ)  If you’ve been to Dallas before, you know traffic can get a little congested and intense, so these were such nice features to have.  I brought 3 bags, a suitcase and a purse, so the size was perfect  for 2 people and ALL my luggage!
Shopping.  Draper James.  You’ve already heard me share my love for the brand and the Nashville location here.  In case you didn’t know, they also have a location in Dallas.  They are a true representation of southern hospitality when you visit any of their stores, and their clothing screams it too.  My adorable ruffle top and scalloped shorts are from Draper James, and I cannot wait to check out the rest of the their spring collection soon!
Makeup.  Blushington.  This was one of my favorite parts of my time here in Dallas.  Getting pampered!  I have never really had my full makeup professionally done, so I was so excited about getting it done at Blushington.  I cannot say enough good things about them!  First they started by doing a BeautyRx Glycolic peel, and then they applied my makeup afterwards.  I absolutely LOVE the eye makeup.  I don’t normally do a very bold eye, so this was so much fun!  I think it really made them pop!
Eyelash Extensions.  Luxx Lash Boutique.  After getting my makeup done, I stopped by Luxx Lash Boutique to get a fill for my eyelash extensions.  They use Extreme lashes which I normally use back in Memphis, but they also use an HD lash from Extreme that I had never tried before.  Some of my favorite things about these lashes are that they are thin, lightweight and soft.  They fan out and create a completely full lash look without too much weight or bulk.  Luxx Lash Boutique was so great.  All of their staff was so nice and accommodating.  And I absolutely loved the chair they use to do the extensions in.  It tilts back so you can just relax and even take a nap while you get them done.  I took full advantage of it!
And last but certainly not least, I am teaming up with Vera Bradley  today to give away a piece of luggage up to $220 to one lucky reader.  You may remember me sharing my favorite luggage collection from them here.  I have the spinner suitcase, and it is amazing.  It is a total game changer when running through the airport with 4 bags.  I absolutely love it!  To enter the giveaway, just use the rafflecopter widget below and good luck!  Which piece of luggage would you choose from Vera Bradley?  What are some of your favorite spots to visit in Dallas?

  1. I would love to get the lighten up wheeled carry on bag in the cuban tiles print from Vera Bradley. It would be a great piece of luggage for weekend trips and if the overhead is full and I have to check my bag, it will stand out with the beautiful print.

  2. OMG! I love the 22" Roll Along Duffel Bag in Classic Black, goes with anything. Love all the places you visited and posted about. Another great one is Two Corks and a Bottle. Every Wednesday Night they have Show Tunes which has become a tradition. It is a Uptown Dallas Winery and Piano Bar. They have the best local entertainers!! No cover!!

  3. Posted this yesterday..don't know why it didn't show up.

  4. I love your pics! You make hauling around luggage look effortless! If I won I would enjoy either the large rolling duffel, the small spinner or the foldable roller shown on the website. But honestly, with Vera Bradley you can't go wrong with any of their products! I love the look of the quilted black, very classy!

  5. Had so much fun "shopping" on Vera Bradley lol I'm LOVING the "Lighten Up Wheeled Carry On Luggage" in a few prints, the Cuban Tiles & Bohemian Blooms. I so need this luggage!! Tired of having to borrow from family members since my last broke lol šŸ˜‰ Fingers crossed!!

  6. I would choose the Expandable Travel Tote. I really don't like the weighed down feeling of heavy bulky duffel type bags. This seems more realistic for me because it expands and has a zip top. In case it rains or snows it is water repellent which is an extra plus. These are chic enough too that I may forego a small purse.
