How to Shop for Fitness Equipment for Your Home +by Walking in Memphis in High Heels

For about a year now, I have been debating on getting a treadmill!  At first I had the usual excuses that most people do.  “Well, I don’t have room for it.”  “Plus, I already have a gym membership.”  Fast forward a year, and I’ve been searching for the perfect one!  Sure, I do have a gym membership, and I also have a walking track right across from our house.  But the truth?  Some days (or a lot of days), I just don’t make it to the gym or the walking track.

Most of the time after work and mommin’, I want something easy…and convenient…and realistic for me.  I need something I can do right here at home between naptime, cooking, cleaning, blogging and working.  The best time for me to go for a run is when Leighton is napping or sleeping at night, but it’s usually just Leighton and me here then, so I’m glued to the house.  But I still need and want to get my workout in.  I need in-home fitness equipment.

I headed over to our local Sears last week and started my search for the perfect piece of fitness equipment to put in my home.  I already knew I wanted a treadmill, but I was clueless on which one.  I immediately started looking at the NordicTrak treadmills because I have always heard such great things about the brand and wanted to go with a brand I had heard of and trusted.  I made sure to make a list beforehand with what features would be most important to me when shopping for a treadmill:

1.)  It needs to be space saving.  I don’t have much free room in the house so I want to be able to fold it up to store when it’s not being used.

2.)  It needs to have a fan on it.  From my experience of running on treadmills, it makes such a huge difference if it has a fan on it.  I can run so much further when I’m not dripping sweat all over the place.

3.)  It needs to have a steep incline on it.  I want to be able to have a wide range of inclines I can set on the treadmill to really amp up my workout when I need it.

4.)  It needs to have a motor that is powerful but operates quietly.  There is nothing worse to me than having to hear a loud treadmill running along with my feet pounding on it and my heavy breathing all at once.

And of course bonuses would be if it is Wi-Fi capable, has speakers and can be connected to your tablet.  After looking at 5 different NordicTrak treadmills, I finally decided on the NordicTrak C950 i.  It had everything I was looking for in a treadmill and more.  It has a sleek space saving design and folds up for storage.  It also has EasyLift Assist to help with the heavy lifting when moving and unfolding.  Perfect for when I’m home by myself and don’t have anyone to help.

The treadmill has an incline that adjusts up to 12%.  It has a nice large fan on it.  It has speakers, is Wi-Fi capable, and has a spot to put your tablet to connect with iFit.   The NordicTrak C950i has all the bells and whistles you would want in a treadmill, but it still has a space saving design and is on sale with free in-home delivery.  It is being delivered this weekend, and I cannot wait to finally have my first piece of fitness equipment in my home.  As a busy mom, I am all about squeezing in workouts whenever I can whether they’re for 10 minutes or an hour.  Every little bit counts.

Visit your local Sears store or Sears.com to find the perfect treadmill for you.  Sears has treadmills at every price point, such as this NordicTrack T 6.7i treadmill (only $613.79 right now!), to heljp you build your own “dream” home gym on any budget.  You can easily find one for any budget you’re looking for.  They also have a variety of other equipment and accessories and incredible deals!

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Sears today to give one lucky reader a $200 Sears gift card to put towards a treadmill or anything else they may have their eye on.  This is the perfect time to help kick your workout up a notch too and make it even more convenient for you to get that run in.  To enter just use the rafflecopter widget below and good luck!  Do you have a treadmill in home?  Have you been thinking about getting a treadmill?  What is your favorite treadmill from Sears?

  1. I've been oogling over the thought of having a dishwasher again. Our portable (hand me down) dishwasher crapped out this summer, and with a toddler and baby, there's just an abundance of dishes and not as much time as before. So a dishwasher is what I'd be looking for! AND we have a sears close by that we've already been looking At to finance a dishwasher lol. ????

  2. I have a used treadmill and love it for cold/ rainy days. Plus it great when the kids are at home and they just don't want to get out. I would love an elliptical though. It would help shake things up with my workouts.

  3. I used to have elliptical and ended up selling it haha. I prefer classes atthis point- they motivate me more but I have wanted a treadmill! I think I'd choose video accessories for my new youtube channel that no one watches lol.

  4. You are Amazing! thanks for this chance! I would spend it on a new stroller for baby #2 due next month! 🙂 But a treadmill is definitely something im going to need!! ;D

  5. I have a small townhouse so I can't have a lot of big bulky furniture that would overwhelm my little porch. The Garden Oasis Harrison 3 Piece High Bistro Set would be perfect! I love high chairs because I am tall and who doesn't like to let their feet dangle when they are eating good food and enjoying good company?! After the ice and snow, I am more than ready to start eating outside and enjoying the warmer weather.

  6. this would be so incredible to win!!! Id choose the Weider 300LB Weight Set. my friend and I lift but dont have a full set so sometimes we arent able to progress like we want to. this would be a huge help

  7. I've already bought a treadmill so I'd definitely use it for something else. What I'm really in need of is some bedding for our guest bedroom, so that would be first on my list.

  8. I had a treadmill that I simply wore out. I religiously walked 4-5 miles a day on it during the winter months. And when it started warming up and I started walking/jogging outside I got the worst case of shin splits I've ever had from the difference in walking surfaces.
I haven't looked at exercise equipment in so long and gosh at all the choices. I would use the gift card to apply to the same one you purchased, the NordicTrack C950 i Treadmill – FREE DELIVERY.

  9. My treadmill died on me about a couple of months ago and I have been looking for a new one so that would be the first thing I would think of buying. I also would love an ab machine.

  10. I would love to have a treadmill at home. I walk a couple of miles everyday but just haven't gotten around to jogging (running?!) and think I'd like to start that at home first. The treadmill you decided on looks perfect! Thanks so much for sharing the details about the treadmill and for the great offer from Sears.

  11. I've been bugging my hubby to let us purchase a treadmill! We also have a gym membership that I hardly get to use as I'm a stay at home mom and he works all the time! It would be amazing to finally have one at home!

  12. I have always been a huge fan of Sears. They have so many great options at all different price points. I would probably get this KitchenAid KSM105GBC 5-Qt. Mixer with Glass Bowl since I have been wanting one for years!! xo – starla.batesATyahooDOTcom

  13. I would love to purchase a blender, so that I can make yummy smoothies for a quick breakfast on-the-go! Thank you for the opportunity.

  14. How you somehow made shooting in a Sears while shopping for a treadmill look so dang cute is beyond me haha! I love this post and the treadmill you decided on sounds incredible. I can't wait to have more space that allows for in-home workout equipment!

  15. I would love my own workout equipment, but I live in a small apartment and even if I could crowd it in, I've found using workout equipment always vibrates on the floor and bothers the downstairs neighbors, so I would buy new workout clothing to wear to the gym. Luckily my gym is just down the street!

  16. Sears was the best store growing up as a kid and remember ordering by catalog. Nut this shopping trip invites me to get some fantastic bedding I so "sorely" need for a good night's rest!
